  • Uno del mio film preferiti.

  • No question, one of the greatest film ever made. A masterpiece of the highest order. It's like watching a painting come to life.

  • This is such an amazing film. I wish that we could see some brilliant Italian cinema today like there was back then.

  • Robert de Niro is so handsome in this movie! I feel good only looking at him eheheh.

And this movie is one of the best ones I've ever seen...

    Uno dei film migliori italiani.

Voglio vedere se nasceranno altri registi così!!

Will I see in the future such a masterpiece as this? With cool actors as them?

    Nah.

I'm glad I can say to live in the same time as de Niro.

  • Burt Lancaster was heartbreaking in this. One of his best later performances along with "Atlantic City" and "Conversation Piece."

  • This is possibly the greatest foreign language picture that I have ever seen. One of the finest films ever made. Robert De Niro and Donald Sutherland give performances of a lifetime.

  • Fantástico filme!!

Certamente um dos melhores que já vi!

  • esa trompeta.........

  • inmiortal!

  • whats the name of this song??

  • Ennio Morricone - Movie Novecento Romance

  • Escelente pelicula, escelente musica y escelentes actores.

  • Cool movie. I actually saw the uncut version when it was briefly released to U.S. theaters in 1991. I'll never forget it

  • Wonderful beauty and grace....Does anyone have a copy of her movie First Love by Turgenev Directwed by Max Schell with John Moulder-Brown I have posted a clip on a compilation Search Moulder-Brown...2 great young talents ...Where are they now?????

  • beautifly done it looks and sounds like a pro documentory

  • at 0:56 De Niro looks like he is beside his Raging Bull character.

  • lol you are right.

  • One of the films everyone has to see at least once. If anyone has a chance to see this 5+ hour film in a theater, you will never forget it. Don't be shocked when you are upset it's only 5+ hours. This could have gone to 10 hours and it still would have worked. A great film.

  • top ten movie´s ever

  • This movie is one of the best I've ever seen...The father of the director Bernardo Bertolucci is Attilio, a famous and estimated Italian poet...his son inherited his poetic feeling, and you can see it in some scenes of Novecento

  • The change in image from the beginning sequence (in the field with Regina and Attila) to the end, where you're looking at the same thing but seeing something totally different, is utter genius. They get theirs!!!

  • I don't care what people say, I want to see this film

  • you definitely should see this film!!!

  • You should see this movie!

  • You should...it's one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life, even if it hurts sometimes

  • This film could make anyone a socialist, if only temporarily. I think it was the greatest film experience I've ever had the first time I saw it.

  • Robert De Niro is simply breathtaking in this movie!

  • This music is really wonderful but very seldom played. I wonder why.

  • Robert De Niro looked really hansome in this film.

  • i agree.he's a beautiful man.

  • Just watched it. The scenes with the cat and the little boy (killed by Donald Sutherland's character) is pretty gruesome.

  • i gave seen the first act its one of the best film I have seen this year.

    *Grande!* 8-)

The best film ever. No doubts, this one shows the real sense of wars and misunderstandings.

  • Grande Bertolucci/Morricone!

  • I still have a huge poster of the movie on the whole wall in my bedroom.

I never saw it somewhere else, till on a newsbulletin about the closing of a car factory in Italy I saw it hanging there on a wall.

I loved Niro en Depardieu after this and saw many many movies with them.

  • I forgot what it was like to hear music to film so uplifting, so resolute, and Bertoluci is still one of my masters. Thanks for this tiny capsule of wonder, but how can I see this film again which rests so clearly in my memory as my favourite of all time?

  • You can buy the DVD.I already have it :-)

  • Pure classic. Beautiful.

  • you damn right!!!

  • "Verdi is dead! Verdi is dead!"

    Great movie.

Robert de Niro looks so handsome in it.

  • 1900,The Travelling Players(Greek film),The city of sad(Taiwan film) are the best epic of the world.

  • Such a wonderfull movie and the score is amazing as well!

  • i love this epic its agreat masterpiece with great performance by dominique sanda , laura betti , and everybody else

  • I personally prefer Bertolucci's other masterpiece "The Conformist" to "1900", but both are great.

    -Ian C., 12-year old filmmaker

  • this was just released on DVD as a collector's edition

  • Oh, and by the way, "1900" is not a 4-hour epic. It's original version lasts more than 5 hours.

  • This score ever is terrific; Moriccone's best and probably my favorite ever. And the film is just as fantastic. Usually I'm not a fan of Bertolucci, but "1900" is an unforgettable masterpiece.

  • I think the score is great but it is not Morricone's best score. Once upon a time in America's score is his best one and in my opinion it is the best music ever written for cinema.

  • a dificult choice but this precise theme of "1900" and his variants, touch me very deeply.a pastorale,an anthem, all that overwhelming dignity...and tender.

  • Fantastic score. One of the best ever. And of course, a great movie made of one of the best directors ever!

  • Thanks for this Upload!

  • Olmo Dalco!

  • IO have seen it the last week at the cinema (I had already seen it at home)and i think it is one of the most amazing film I've ever seen...

it is ever so important for italain history, i think it should be seen at school

  • I saw this movie once over 10 years ago. I came across it in a video rental store, and it intrigued me. I thought it was both fascinating and beautiful in its epic scope. I would love to see it rereleased on DVD.

  • Does anyone know if the film is available on DVD? Its a pity that so many horrible films are on DVD and this one is not:(

  • It says in your description that 1900 is a 3 hour epic. It's 5 1/4 hours in its original version, 4 1/4 hours in the shorter version...

  • You are correct. I fixed my description.

  • Thanks. 1900 is such a great film...

  • Was that Dominique Sanda? I never saw this movie. Is it a worthwhile movie to see? I loved Tango in a way but found it incredibly depressing. Too depressing. Alienation.

  • I saw "1900" about 30 years ago. It still ranks as one of my my all time favorites.

  • great. do enyone knowe where you can get the soundtrack by Ennio Morricone?

  • This is my favorite score by Morricone. No one ever talks about it. The main theme is so gorgeous.

  • Amazon

  • excellent
