For any track and field event, height is an obvious advantage because it gives you more leverage from head to tie, but its the ability to take advantage of that. Stefan Holm on the other hand, aside being one of the shortest world class high jumps at 181 tall, takes advantage of being the fastest on the runway and the most explosive on take-off. I'm 180 and can only jump 170cm, so I take my hat off to the guy!

His second attempt at that height was even better than his make in my opinion from a clearance perspective. He had clean clearance by about 2.5 inches before barely clipping it with the heel of one foot. As far as his speed, he ran adequately enough for the event. It's not like running on a straight away.
