  • Goooooo Rogerrrrrrr!!!

  • Nice video ya jackass

  • I get the same frame rate when I play Crysis 2.

  • Is it me or does he seem bigger here? Like...more muscular or broader, sorta. Does anyone agree?

  • recorded with a calculator...

  • i think we should call it the super top-spin

  • wich are these shoes and trousers?

  • The most important thing to notice is how his gaze remains on the point of impact for a moment after he hits the ball—something I haven't seen any other player on the Tour do. I'll bet my balls he gets a decisive edge over his opponent just from doing that.

  • I love how he shifts his weight to the ball. GO FED!

  • best player ever

  • he looks "wilder" in 04... less elegance i think

  • Respect.

  • Fed shows that close stance forehand can be used with open stance.

  • WHAT A LEGEND.

  • Fed needs to cut that mohiccan.

  • what a wrist

  • what shoes is he wearing?

  • vapor speeds.

  • If this was in 2005 (which I think it was) I believe this was when his forehand was the best.

  • Indeed. 2005 was his vintage year.

  • love the shoes

  • i think that although federer says he won't retire until he's in his mid-thirties, with the baby coming, i think he might just retire in a couple of years. still think he'll break sampras' record tho

  • i don't think he will... i think he has hunger for setting the record as high as possible... and he's playing loose now, he doesnt have so much pressure as he did before winning roland garros... i hope what i'm saying is not just wishful thinking haha because hes the best !!

  • He's got the reccord now. 15, he's the greatest of them.

He now just need to play tennis for the fun of being good. I think this can lead him to win an other streak of Grand Slam titles. He has shown he wasn't any less in shape than before after this marathon game; he played the same game as in the first set after 4H15...

Roddick was done by the two last points. As I said often, Federer's gracefulness on the court reflects his fluidity and prevent energy waste. He can play like this for long.

  • where's james blake?

  • unreliable? It may be flat but it's done him well. He has great power that makes up for it.

  • Comment removed

  • I was talking about James Blake. It was a response.

  • ...Sorry, but I don't see any offset lines here, so I thaught it was an open comment.

Yeah, Blake isn't the greatest player to have ever played.

  • oh plz...

  • ....do you play tennis?

  • amazing forehand by federer but a bad quality video

  • Look how amazing is his forehand, the ball is comming and he is preparing it, pointint the left shoulder to the ball, left arm on right side for balance, then he steps confidently with his left foot and with a outstanding body rotation unleashes the greast weapon of tennis on the past years, just AMAZING we can see that from so much angles. Amazing.

  • plus the blue shoes

  • how would u feel if all ur life u kept improving, then u keep improving, but one day some random guy just starts popping up and stealing all your glory and breaking all ur records and ur dignity.Fed's crying isnt just because hes losing its because everything is being taken from him all so fast and he just isnt used to it.plus imagine if ur one GS from matching a tennis legend but some guy named Rafael Nadal is always there preventing u from catching up to that dream.just think about it dude.

  • Shut up. Boohoo... Poor wee guy that only won 13 Grand Slams. Imagine not having 14 of them.

"imagine if ur one GS from matching a tennis legend but some guy named Rafael Nadal is always there preventing u from catching up to that dream" - WTF???? Its called sport. What, you going to cry because Sampras basically retired Edberg?

  • no cuz i actually don't care one way or the other about sampras retiring edberg. but im just making a point. its called youtube.

  • he already has 14

  • It's because the atp is colluding with the surface managers to make the courts slower and bounce higher to play into Nadal's game... or maybe Fed's just slowed down.

  • Well, Federer did slowed down this year... He was sick and recovering all year long if you didn't know. I think he had mononucleosis.

  • i bet he had a winner on that

  • 2005 was definately the year when he wore the best outfits! In the AO and here and the masters cup, they were simply awesome outfits and shoes

  • yep, nike were great then. Really liked the AO shirt

  • blue shoes were sick too

  • First thing I was seeying too, nice outfit!

  • THOSE SHOES!!! Amazing!!

  • everything roger federer wear is amazing :D

  • love the blue shoes

  • This is the best video to learn forehand! You can actually see all things being executed in perfect fashion!

    Rick

  • i bet i could play like him with those shoes :D

  • sure you could IDIOTinspiron, sure you could

  • thank you for posting this, im trying to get this forehand down. i can do it most of the way, i just end up hitting it fairly short ending up in the end of the service box-begging of no man's lol. its insane how he does this.

  • Yea, i think that's because of no extension in your shots probably. I am not sure; But i am trying to emulate the shot too; I am missing the follow through and extension ... A follow through comes when you are in good position and good position comes from good footwork. I gotta improve on that.

    Rick

  • Roger is just unbelievable.

I love it how he does his forehand strokes, it's almost just a wrist flick. Best forehand ever

  • everything in this vid is weird. the chopyness, his striking of the ball, his outfit......

  • wtf?

  • check out those sneaks!!

  • is it just me or does it look like he's lost some weight since then

  • better shape and fitness, no homo or nething, but have u noticed how his chest starts to stick out from his shirt now?

  • it feels like his style changed alot from 04 to now, I don't know how to explain

  • Yeah I know what you mean. This video though, he had to take the ball close to his feet on the rise, unless im seeing otherwise.

  • @johnster06 this video is from 05.

  • hes soo young

  • What year is this from? It looks like a slightly different and off balance all around shot than he uses now.

  • idk the year, but its different because his stance now is more open

  • Indian Wells 2005. And the stance he uses depends on his position... and his mood.

  • why is the video laggy? now that defeats the purpose of seeing his contact point.

  • gotta love the blue shoes

  • yea matches perfect with the shorts.

  • sweet

  • dude do you know which grip federer uses on the forehand?

  • it's a "mix" between eastern and semiwestern... not an eastern grip as a lot of people says... his grip goes close to the semiwestern one..

  • thanks man
