It couldn't do 400mph, that's unrealistic even if it were geared for it. It is obviously set up for 1/4 mile races. If a lighter and more aerodynamic vehicle were used specifically for top speed with 2200hp... maybe. But in the 1/4 mile, acceleration is the name of the game. Very different setup and hp requirements than a flat out, salt flats type, top speed run. Current Top Fuel dragsters make 7000hp and "only" hit 330mph.
I seen skylines and 350z with a 3rd less displacement do quicker times that....For 2200bhp you would atleast expect a wheelie bar on the back...Good on the man his got alot of know how tho !

Not quite accurate, building the Veyron cost Volkswagen something like £3mill per unit. Volkswagen lost around £2.2mill on each unit sold.
