A GPS works great BUT maps are always good to have (laminated!) because you never know. Good to plan out your route just in case the GPS goes dead for some reason.
I thought it was all computerized. And if u look at the map don't u only have to look at the numbers on the roads you'll be drive'n? So u really don't have to look at all the squiggely lines, do u?
Atlanta to New York? Easy. 85/95 until you learn the toll-and-time saving shortcuts, though 85/77/81/78/80 is a prettier drive. No tolls that i can recall, only a few miles longer, and you miss Richmond/DC/B'more traffic.
FrednMaverick, can you give me a little more info on New York regarding the BQE. I think I'm thinking of I-278 going through Brooklyn after coming over the Verrazano Bridge. Can you stay on that with a 13'6 trailer all the way to the LIE (I-495). I think you can if you stay in the middle or far left lane. From what I've heard though you don't leave I-278. Just curious as i've routed around once from JFK and back over the GW Bridge just to be on the safe side. Thx.
does schneider still give out the route books to new drivers?
