  • I miss the poolside at Shangri-La...As a whitey from Norway livin in Accra this is where i escape from everyday life..I love it p

  • Always drove by,,,never went in. Nice video

  • I was there to pick up my girlfriend, as she works in catering, and they had a function at the Shangri-La.......I had not been there for two years, and on that occasion, it was to meet my then-girlfriend, so there is certainly something about the Shangri-La & my girlfriends that is almost spooky !

It's not bad, their burgers are ok, but not worth the money they put on them, and I not only could make better in Ghana, I HAVE !!!

  • @Ghanapedia hahahaha well you should know hotel burgers would be heavily overpriced. I would rather eat from some other location decent and don't have to suffer the "extortion"

  • When you convert it into $US or $AU, it works out about right.......the problem is the quality, often you pay top prices for an average burger, and often the meat is average......they often don't use premium mince......

The best chicken burger in Accra is undoubtedly Barcelos, one of the best I've eaten........the best hamburger is probably Frankies.......

Never eat Chicken Inn........terrible...........there is a new place called Chicken Republic that is not so bad......

  • @Ghanapedia I had Frankies signature fried rice and chicken many times but never had their chicken burger. Would try that the next time. I am more used to going out to Odo Rice, Coconut Grove, Asanka Local and other places. Good food abound.

I am for quality...If I pray for it then I must ge my money's worth.

  • Ah, see not only am I an Obroni, more inclined to eat Obroni food, but it seems that two things that trouble me, rice & fish, are common in a large proportion of Ghanaian dishes...........I like rice, but my stomach can't digest it, and it just sticks in my guts for days, often causing me pain.......

As for seafood, just won't eat it at all.......

I had to wind my pizza place up at Celebrity, wasn't getting the business, but we cater for Achimota Golf Club.

  • @Ghanapedia Oh I get it. You've gotten used to the word Obroni. Oh really. More interesting thing is we can't seem to grow our own rice to feed the population then import rice from Texas- shocking! That's true, way too much rice in our diet. So what do you usually eat when out in Accra? fufu or some banku?

  • No, I generally stick to western meals......usually I return home and make my own dinner, so I make up home made pastas, etc........also do the best burritos you will find in Ghana, and people love the chicken shwarmas I do.......when I return next year, I want to get a casual pool hall or something going, perhaps with a wood oven for pizza, plus these meals......I have land at Labone, but just need to develop it....was also thinking a walk-through mall with shops each side & a garden/pavers...
