  • I was wondering if it would be possible to burn fat and build muscle at the same time? Would I be able to be on a caloric deficit to burn fat, but eat the proper macros to gain some muscle? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • @CSQUAR3DsBaCk keep ur bulking as clean as possible and maybe supplement with some fat burners just to keep fat accumulation at bay when trying to build muscle

  • @CSQUAR3DsBaCk Its very possible, especially for beginners or those heavily out of shape. However, when you've been working out for a while, it gets a lot harder (so much so that some people don't believe its possible!). But trust me it is. I have lost weight and gained muscle. My biceps are definitely bigger than before (I measured) and I lost around 20 pounds in 6 months.

  • @CSQUAR3DsBaCk Heres the thing...if you gain muscle first(assuming you're a dude) your body MUST burn fat in order to sustain the muscle...EAT ABOVE your maintenance calories, but do it cleanly...nothing but REAL FOOD with nutritional value, healthy fats and lean protein, whole grains, veggies(especially anything green). You will do fine, no. 1 thing is consistency and confidence.

  • @DIEGODEGGO2 are you trying to put on mucsle? if you are then you should be about 2500- 3000 calories. im the same as you man but im abit taller.i started out on that but nothing was happening so i had to increase my amount and ive had more gains.

  • ...continued. I know that gaining some fat is a given, but I also know that I don't need all the calories one would normally consume if they were trying to build muscle all over. Legs are a huge muscle group, upper chest isn't really, and arms aren't terribly large. If I'm only trying to build those up while maintaining the others do you suggest that I take half of the caloric surplus normally needed to build overall muscle or do you think I should do a normal bulk phase?

  • Hey there fellas, I had a question that's kind of in between two goals you've already addressed in some of your other videos. I've been lifting for years and I've nearly achieved the body type that I have wanted. My goal now is to build my upper chest, arms, and legs while maintaining the rest of my physique.

    The question is how many calories should I eat over my maintenance level in order to build those specific muscle groups while gaining as little fat as possible.

  • @Mercedesman097 Spiking your insulin levels will help the creatine to be absorbed better. That's the reason most people use the grape juice. I personally can't stand grape juice so i take mine with a scoop of straight dextrose mixed in Gatorade.

  • btw when they say white rice they dont mean basmati, basmati white rice is complex. and actually the way u cook stuff has effects of the Glycemic index, a baked sweet potato has a higher glycemic index than a boiled one and raw one has a very ver low GI. and lets not forget that the foods GI were tested alone not with proteins and fats that will slow thigs up. but at the end of the day u can WHATEVER THE FUCK U WANNA DO!

  • This is true. I find that I can lose 10 lbs of fat in a week eating good carbs than I can eating bad carbs. When I eat bad carbs At the most I lose 5 lbs a week if that.

  • I agree that insulin messes you up and plays a huge role in why a lot of people are fat.....but at the end of the day it's not the insulin that's actually doing it, its the excess calories. Taking in more calories than you burn is what makes you fat. If I went on a 1000 calorie all snicker diet...i'd still lose just as much weight as if I went on a 1000 salad diet. That is an absolute undebatable law of physics and how the universe works. Thermodynamics.

  • @theUSER101 You might lose weight but you will be skinny fat. What they mean is that insulin stores energy as fat meaning that even though you lose some weight your belly will have a spare tire. So yea if thats the look you want go right ahead and eat nothing but snickers and lose some weight.

  • Sorry guys but this is wrong. If you are in a caloric deficit you will lose weight. The GI index is based on fasted subjects without consuming any other foods like protein or fats. In the real world sense it doesn't mean much.

  • So Knowledgeable and informative. I have incorporated running/jogging 3 days per week and free weights 2 days per week. I am in my 6th week of jogging and I am on a high and totally geeked for it. I am working muscles in my legs and back I have never worked before. They say there is a thing called runners high and I am becoming a believer.

    I am still working on eating right so your advice was right on point..

  • I had no clue what Glycemic Index was. I'm glad I watched this. So i don't eat much but i like pop. I'm guessing 2-3 pops at night isn't doing me any good. Question: If i eat low glycemic index and lose 10 pounds then resort back to my old diet which kept my body weight steady. will i stay at that weight or will i gain back the ten pounds adn then stay steady at the old weight?
