Assalamou Alaykoum Brother and Sisters. I would like to share another reason why Imam Ali was not mentioned as a successor as per Imam Mustafa Qazwini. He says that if Allah S.W.T. had mentioned him by name in the Quran al Kareem, they would have changed the Quran and put the name of abu bakr instead. Shia have forgotten the fundemental aspects of Islam and instead chose to focus on things that are completely insignificant. We can't make up our own religion and then try to find verses in the holy quran to justify our new knowledge. A good start for shia and a good piece of advice: Open the quran and live your life by it. Isn't it the book of Islam? Forget every hadith you have heard. Read the quran first.
The Quran says pray 5 times a day but no where in it does it tell you how. So wat do we do since u r asking us to forget every hadith we've heard? Make up a style of prayer with our own inclusions?

You are exactly correct. The quran tells the FUNDAMENTALS of Islam. It outlines everything we must do. The hadith translate it for us if we need furthur knowledge. The hadith does NOT introduce new ideas. Try reading the quran cover to cover for one time and you will see how everything that you believe doesn't make any sense. Just try it.

The Holy Quran talks about Imam Ali (as) when it refers to the ones who give sujud in rukuh, when it talks about the Holy unity between Imam Ali (as) and Sayeda Fatima Al-Zahra (sa) etc cant remember the surah numbers now but there are others I think

We must look at when and where the sura was revealed to the prophet muhamed (pbuh) because that gives us exactly what it refers to. Also, if Ali (r.a) was appointed by Allah (swt) and he KNEW that why didn't he dispute? Isn't he a believer?
Verse 4:59 refers to the authority amongst you. Yes we disagree with our brothers in the school of the companions but clearly the authority comes from Allah and the Prophet. Since that was the case we know the Prophet appointed Imam Ali[as] as his successor in the last year of his life at Ghadir Khumm. This event cannot be denied even by our Sunni brothers but they choose to interpret it a different way. I prefer to follow the leader appointed by Allah and the Prophet.
The appointment of Imam Ali (ra) is a BIG part of our religion right? Just as salah, prayer, etc.... How come the Prophet Muhamed (pbuh) only mentioned it once? How come the EXACT appointing of Imam Ali (r.a) was not mentioned in the koran? Does Allah (swt) want us all to be sinners???

What word of the prophet? They expanded and rose Islam after the passing of the prophet. COnquered Rum and other neighboring empires including pagan Persia. The actions of the children of the Sahaba does not reflect upon the Sahaba themselves.
No one is denying they expanded Islam but it was mostly to acquire more power. Sunnis consider people like Muawwiya & Yazzid to have been promised janna.
Yet there are "sahih" hadiths that these two were the biggest Munaffiqs & were committed many atrocities against true sahabas & the prophet's own family. The prophet's beloved grand kids Hassan & Hussein were massacred by these people.

No one is more sympathetic to the deaths of the Ahl ul Bayt more than me (as they are my ancestors) but to characterize Muawiya as somehow "evil" is too much. There are no authentic Sahihs calling him a munafiq. Yes his son Yazid was a murderer and a fraud but the sins of the son do not covet to the father. Muawiya was a true sahabi and a righteous man. The propaganda against him will only isolate the Shia further into a splinter sect.

About Muawwiya I'm willing 2 bet my life that if I quote authentic hadiths and other accepted authentic sources from your ulama you will still defend him. If Muawiyah compiled the Quran then all the hadiths that say Quran was completd when the prophet was alive r lies. Ali is the one that compiled it, so says Bukhari.
I love Imam Ali (r.a) as every single muslim in this world should. He usesSurat Nisa verse 59 :
"O you who believe, obey the messanger, obey Allah and those who have authority over you. And if you have any dispute concerning the matter refer it to Allah and the messanger"
If he were to dispute it would have sent Islam into civil war and a civil war would have ended Islam. His patience exposed the previous caliphs. For the previous caliphs have said had it not been for Imam Ali's advice they would have falled flat on their face
for this reason the Shia are keep in the dark and never included with mainstream Islam. Shiaism has many great aspects to it but this paranoia and ill heartedness toward the companions of the holy prophet makes it very unattractive to many good hearted people.

The appointment of Abu Bakr (ra) was instituted by the most trusted of companions of our Prophet. And what "orders" are you talking about? Of course I have heard of Ghadeer al Khum its when my ancestor named his son in law Ali (ra) as his "mawla." There are many interpretations and variations of the word "mawla" but a generally accepted view of the word and by its context is said to mean "friend." The followers of Ali claim it to mean "master." That is a very uncomfortable interpretation and borders blasphemy, no one is the master of Mohammad (saw) except God. Imam Ali (ra) even cursed the people who worshipped him in medina.

ask any arabic speaker, a wali is a friend not master. there are a caste of people called "walis" of God who are said to have special powers God has given them but they stayed unknown. They are mentioned in the Qur'an. "Walilullah" or Friends of God. Mawla is an older word for friend, more formal.

If the Prophet Mohammad picked Ali to be his successor in front of all those people then why was there confusion and tension between the various faction of who was to lead the ummah. An answer with tabara against the Sahaba will not be sufficient and will only save you a place other than heaven in judgement day.

Its because some people are unwilling to accept truth. Why did people oppose the prophet himself during his life? Its the same idea...it doesn't mean he was wrong.
The hadith doesn't say Imam Ali (as) is the master of Nebi Mohammad (saaw), it says that those people who Rasoul (saaw) is the master of, then after him, Ali (as) is their master.
My only master is God, not Mohammad (saw) or Ali (ra); to say otherwise would be blasphemous. I respect the love the Shia have for the Ahl ul Beit, but a line needs to be drawn to figure out what or whom is going too far.

You're rejecting the words of Rasoul (saaw) himself. Even sunnis accept he said this hadith 'I AM YOUR MAWLA AND ALI IS YOUR MAWLA'.

I am delighted that there is a man who speaks in a calm and collected manner and makes logical and well thought arguments. I am from the so-called Sufis and alot of the core values and beliefs as pertaining to Ahl Al Bayt are the same. However, a point of contention I do have is that the Sufis have not deviated. Those that have are not Sufis at all. Ahle Bayt are an imperative link. Without them, we are not incorporated into Tariqas.

Assalamou Alaykoum Brother and Sisters. I would like to share another reason why Imam Ali was not mentioned as a successor as per Imam Mustafa Qazwini. He says that if Allah S.W.T. had mentioned him by name in the Quran al Kareem, they would have changed the Quran and put the name of abu bakr instead. Allah made a promise that nobody will change the Quran and that is why the Ahl al bayt are mentionned indirectly in the Quran Al Kareem. Thank you for listening and I commend you for the speech.

Shia have forgotten the fundemental aspects of Islam and instead chose to focus on things that are completely insignificant. We can't make up our own religion and then try to find verses in the holy quran to justify our new knowledge. A good start for shia and a good piece of advice: Open the quran and live your life by it. Isn't it the book of Islam? Forget every hadith you have heard. Read the quran first.

You are exactly correct. The quran tells the FUNDAMENTALS of Islam. It outlines everything we must do. The hadith translate it for us if we need furthur knowledge. The hadith does NOT introduce new ideas. Try reading the quran cover to cover for one time and you will see how everything that you believe doesn't make any sense. Just try it.

Wat u r asking about is not mentioned clearly in the Quran but it is implied and hadiths confirm them.
I picked a straight forward hadith from "Sahih Bukhar" that CLEARLY shows Umar Khatab was a coward who ran away during the battle of Uhud then I quoted an ayat from the Quran that CLEARLY states his action makes him a coward and a hypocrite yet u think he was a great man. Do you doubt Quran?

shababalmehdi why doesn't he use the entire verse in his lecture? Why bits and pieces? And how does this prove that Ali (r.a) was appointed by Allah? We must look at when and where the sura was revealed to the prophet muhamed (pbuh) because that gives us exactly what it refers to. Also, if Ali (r.a) was appointed by Allah (swt) and he KNEW that why didn't he dispute? Isn't he a believer?

Verse 4:59 refers to the authority amongst you. Yes we disagree with our brothers in the school of the companions but clearly the authority comes from Allah and the Prophet. Since that was the case we know the Prophet appointed Imam Ali[as] as his successor in the last year of his life at Ghadir Khumm. This event cannot be denied even by our Sunni brothers but they choose to interpret it a different way. I prefer to follow the leader appointed by Allah and the Prophet.

What word of the prophet? They expanded and rose Islam after the passing of the prophet. COnquered Rum and other neighboring empires including pagan Persia. The actions of the children of the Sahaba does not reflect upon the Sahaba themselves.

No one is denying they expanded Islam but it was mostly to acquire more power. Sunnis consider people like Muawwiya & Yazzid to have been promised janna.
Yet there are "sahih" hadiths that these two were the biggest Munaffiqs & were committed many atrocities against true sahabas & the prophet's own family. The prophet's beloved grand kids Hassan & Hussein were massacred by these people.

No one is more sympathetic to the deaths of the Ahl ul Bayt more than me (as they are my ancestors) but to characterize Muawiya as somehow "evil" is too much. There are no authentic Sahihs calling him a munafiq. Yes his son Yazid was a murderer and a fraud but the sins of the son do not covet to the father. Muawiya was a true sahabi and a righteous man. The propaganda against him will only isolate the Shia further into a splinter sect.

I have never heard a Sunni praise Yazid in anyway besides maybe Wahabis who are not Sunnis but idiots. As a matter of fact the Prophet(s) can error, only God is perfect. Prophet(s) are humans who do nothing but relay the message of God to the people. Muawiyah was actually a partial author of the Qur'an, to call him anything but good would lead to my original point of Takhrif. Do you believe there has been any falsification within the Qur'an?

If he were to dispute it would have sent Islam into civil war and a civil war would have ended Islam. His patience exposed the previous caliphs. For the previous caliphs have said had it not been for Imam Ali's advice they would have falled flat on their face

for this reason the Shia are keep in the dark and never included with mainstream Islam. Shiaism has many great aspects to it but this paranoia and ill heartedness toward the companions of the holy prophet makes it very unattractive to many good hearted people.

I wish not to characterize my Shia brothers in anyway other than positive but every shia I talk to, curse the first three caliphs. And I hear many negative things about the companions of our prophet from them. Even lecturers say many negative things. I am a Sayed so I have a good understanding of Shias, I have never heard any Orthodox Muslim say anything about any Imams or Ali(ra). Now how can any logical person accept these insults from Shias and not get upset and respond to these blasphemies.

Your question commits the logical fallacy of creating a false truth. Our Prophet did not appoint anyone when he died. The appointment of Abu Bakr (ra) was instituted by the most trusted of companions of our Prophet. And what "orders" are you talking about? Until recent times the Shia accused mainstream Muslims of committing "Takhrif" in the Qur'an. Your first point is also inaccurate because "Tabbara" is an obligation to every Shia, the cursing of the Caliphs is your responsibility as a Shia.

The Prophet appointed Imam Ali but you want to deny history. This tradition is the most narrated tradition in Muslim history. Go and read up and dont come back if you dont know what you are talking about. Of course I have heard of Ghadeer al Khum its when my ancestor named his son in law Ali (ra) as his "mawla." There are many interpretations and variations of the word "mawla" but a generally accepted view of the word and by its context is said to mean "friend." The followers of Ali claim it to mean "master." That is a very uncomfortable interpretation and borders blasphemy, no one is the master of Mohammad (saw) except God. Imam Ali (ra) even cursed the people who worshipped him in medina.

ask any arabic speaker, a wali is a friend not master. there are a caste of people called "walis" of God who are said to have special powers God has given them but they stayed unknown. They are mentioned in the Qur'an. "Walilullah" or Friends of God. Mawla is an older word for friend, more formal.

If the Prophet Mohammad picked Ali to be his successor in front of all those people then why was there confusion and tension between the various faction of who was to lead the ummah. An answer with tabara against the Sahaba will not be sufficient and will only save you a place other than heaven in judgement day.

I do not accept the concept of a human being my master, that is called slavery, which Islam outlaws. I have never been taught that the holy prophet was my master. From the many Imams and scholars I've spoken with, none of them tell me that the holy prophet is a slave owner.
You can continue with your takhrif and Bid'a, and I'll continue practicing Islam. I don't know if you celebrate but Happy Ramadhan :)

first of all because the courier is chosen by the judge (allah) and has the miracles and the total purity to lead you in a good path. listen to urself talking about kufr when your comparing allah to a judge. ahlulbayt are mentioned all throught the quran i suggest u read it please. the good is always a minority and the reason we are a minority is because abu bakr, umar n uthman ruled for 25 years before imam ali got his place back as caliph for 5 years. go read bukhari aswell.
