  • Wow i remember when this song came out in 1985,hav'nt heard it in yrs, i was in my late teens, loved it then still do now..

  • unbelievable POWER in that voice!!

  • I bought this CD right when it was first released and Maria got the big push....MTV played videos and we stayed home some nights, got drunk and fucked up on some good smoke...Maria videos came on and she was a bright light at the time..I know she is still out there doing her thing..Just glad you posted this...Memories..

  • fooking amazing ... just fooking amazing.

    knownonsense99 has it spot on

  • Wow. Just. Wow.

  • one of my all-time favorite bands. for awhile back in the day I wanted to BE Maria! Phenomenal voice and she could ROCK!!

  • I remember when they supported U2 what a great band and what an amazing voice Marie McKee' has.

  • When Maria hits the high notes on the chorus it still gives me chills.

  • This is better than Lady Gaga.

  • @sportygirl869 how dare you! to even attempt to compare....harrrrumph! DAH NERVE OF YOU! :

    : )

  • She gave me a boner then and.....lemme check....yep, still does.

  • I believe I was at this performance live at the Palace in Hollywood. I loved that dress, and everything about this performance, amazing and exciting it was!!

  • Maria McKee is such a star. It's too bad this band imploded as it was one of the VERY FEW decent groups that came out of the 80s.This song still holds up after 20 years, which says something about the quality of music they put out.

  • What an amazing song. Just love it, all these years later it's as fresh and kickin' as back then!

  • Fantastic. Love Maria. Love her voice. Everything about her

  • I'll never forget seeing this video on MTV for the first time way back in '86 and was just blown away by Maria's talent. Big fan forever!

  • I saw these guys so many times & every time was great & raw! They never disappointed!!!! What happened? Anybody know what Maria's doing? It would be so sad to lose such a voice!

  • Dear Maria,

I remember the Stone Pony in the summer. You did the Lou Reed cover of Sweet Jane. You were and are the prettiest girl I had ever seen. My friend John headlined at the the Pony on weekends and we met before your set....

    20 years later!....I'm still fallin but I don't mind!!!!!!

  • Is that bananarama on the backing vocals?

  • @TheLonesomeEchoesite I don't think so.. :-)

  • Pretty sure that's Don Heffington on drums, not a drum machine. But it's true that Geffen tried way too hard to polish the band and stripped it of its initial charm. They could have been the first alt country band. However you slice it, though, Maria is a remarkable singer! I had the pleasure of interviewing her in 1983 and wrote the first cover story on her for Music Connection magazine. My favorite LJ songs were You Are the Light, Don't Toss Us Away, Cactus Rose, Soup Soap and Salvation.

  • @BruceKap440 You are the light is my favorite too !

  • Everything that was ugly in the 80 sound his here;mechanical drums, over satured bass, influence of the disco sound.Boring before the end of the first listening... They wanted a fusion of Pop, disco and country, but let 's keep the genres separated They didn 't do justice to music...

  • @serengiv Boy, are you right about this; I loved the first album, but this second one was a huge disappointment. Way overproduced, over-performed, and the songs were all over the place. The fact that they replaced all but two of the original band members didn't help, either.

  • Sweet, sweet baby Maria! :D

  • I so wanted to be Maria McKee in the 80s. Her voice, her style, her hair. All of it!

  • this is the official "live" music video for this song - I was lucky enough to be there for the shoot. Maria is lip-syncing for the video, but believe me her energy is all real and she was rocking like crazy !

  • I was so in love with her in the 80's,loved everything about her. I thought she was sooo hot! Then her solo stuff kinda fizzled,I tried to like it....never got that fire back she had with LJ....

  • where are these guys now! They rocked!!!!!! and lifted my soul!!!!!

  • beatifull

  • the cool Maria Mcgee at her best

  • Since this song is co-written by Maria McKee, Benmont Tench, and Steven Van Zandt, how do we know who wrote what?

  • Before Sheryl Crow,Shawn Colvin and Melissa Etheredge, there was Maria Mckee. She is a goddess.

  • LBjim--you DO know this song was written by the E. Street Band's Little Steven, don't you?

  • @smichelle65 It was written by Maria McKee,Benmont Tench, and Little Steven...

  • sweet sweet voice!

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this song

  • I saw the last half of this video once in a TV store 25 years ago. I still remember the song and the video. I don't know why it's so memorable, but it is. Thanks for posting it!

  • Wow !! She's the greatest !! Next time I hear anybody bashing southerners I'm gon'a remember this chick and bash their lights out just for her !!

  • Wow this should have scored big

  • Wow I have just over the last few days fallen completely in love with Lone Justice, I don't know HOW anything THIS great, with the wonderful beautiful soulful Maria McKee, got past me all these years, but better late than never I guess!

I just found their first two CDs real cheap ordered and cannot WAIT!

I love Lone Justice. Maria RULES!!!!!!!!

  • This woman, this song, this performance literally brings tears to my eyes. And I'm a grizzled old fart, too.

  • @topcover2000 Yeah, so am I and it did the same thing to me. She drove that song right through my heart. It reminds me of my younger days as a musician. Those days when every performance was life or death. Just goes to show you that talent doesn't have alot to do with succes in the music biz.. Hey, she's here for us though...

  • where can I get the tabs/chords to this song?

  • This song was writen for a special someone in late '84..I was the guy believe it or not, such great memories..Thanks Maria and the mighty Lone Justice...

  • @LBjim

    No, I was the guy.

  • @castingtherunes I wrote you something in you box..check it out...Peace, LBjim

  • @LBjim Were you really the guy she wrote that song for, Jim? I'm in awe - of her for writing and singing it, and of you for inspiring it. I saw Lone Justice a long time ago at the Greenbelt Festival in Britain, and I love that song the best, and Maria live is just ... full of soul, as someone else said. She is wonderful and I want to marry her! But, she's married, and I may be soon, so I just thank God for her. I don't know any other singer who gives herself to a song the way she does.

  • OMG MMcKee.... This lady is awesome...period! what an amazing voice.

  • i freakin' love technology. i saw this band in miami over 20 years ago and was crazy about them - always thought they should have gone the way of 10,000 maniancs and just exploded. way cool that you guys post this amazing clip

  • maria perfection!!!

  • It's funny, I'm a big metal fan but I love this band. Great song textures and Maria's voice is always amazing.

Still listen to to these CD'S often, timeless music.

  • Sweet, Sweet Maria (I'm Falling)

  • Wow. Reminds me of Champaign, IL back in '85......

  • The BEST smile in music!!

  • Thank you for posting this; this band really tore it up. Marie McKee's got so much soul, this came fro a time when music really meant something and these folks felt every note.
