  • This is also known as the M91/30 or Mosin-Nagant!!!

  • @SBFHawk1 No, this is the earlier M91 Dragoon Mosin Nagant. It was never upgraded to the M91/30. The Mosin Nagant rifles had many models of which the M91/30 was just one of the more recent versions. Personally, I have a preference for the Finnish models. I own a M91, M27, and two M39's in addition to owning two Russian M91/30's.

  • very cool! I like the history, and that is some good shooting.

just got turned onto the mosin nagant when I thought I could still get an sks for about $100.00 lol silly me.

doubt the 2 russians I just bought online are as storied, hopefully they are decent shooters

  • This is a very rare gun right? If so I have a friend that has one.

  • @MrChanDalt They are hard to find but I woundlt call them rare, but if ur friend has one he ought to keep it :-)

  • You must have thumbs of steel to operate the bolt lock safety that easily.

    Nice shooting.

  • @mitsuman007 AMEN!

  • Great vid and nice rifle. :^)

  • have you try mousqueton berthier 92 ?

  • that rifle probably has good history

I once took a closer look at a scoped mosin and I gotta say it was the first WW2 rifle I wasnt impressed with.

Mauser's action is far superior....but we both know which rifle is older

(when you think about civil war muskets and 5 shot bolt actions made less than a decade later you realize what leaps in technology these things were)

why havent you bought a K98 yet, or is the 1903 gonna do it for you?

  • Thank you,I agree!

I have, shoot, and have posted videos on all those other rifles you have mentioned here.

    Thanks again, E.

  • i was at a gunshow on saturday and left with a 1927 hex recever ex dragoon m9130

  • How did you make the safety so easy to operate? My 91/30s mosin is extremely difficult to operate.

    Thanks

  • I have a Finish Capture M91 and i was wondering where i could find .311 Bullets for reloading? Would the .308 shoot well in these rifles?

  • Slug ur barrel first, the Finn rifles slug between 0.3085 al the way through 0.312

  • Great stuff!

    i subscribed.

  • I guess the Russians took dragoons into the winter war.

  • What is the Caliber.

  • 0.311

  • @mag30th 7.62x54R?

  • @C172Pilotdude correct

  • Caliber of the rifle is 7.62x54R. R for Rimmed. The cartridge is rimmed, and head spaces on the rim. Bore diameter it appears as designated by the owner of this beautiful rifle, a .311. D stamped to accept Russian ammo during the war.

  • You know, without the explanations of the markings and the history, this is just another 'military surplus' rifle. However, as with most mil-surp rifles, there is ALWAYS a story. Some more interesting than others, and that's what makes these firearms so fascinating. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and abilities here for all of us to enjoy and admire.

  • This is definitely true of Mosins. Very nicely made vid, and such a beautiful rifle. Wish I had the range to do a long shoot like that!

  • just another excellent video. dude, you rock!

  • VERY cool video! Thanks for explaining all the markings on your rifle. Thats what made it such a good vid! 5stars

  • Thank you!

  • What do you think of the straight bolt in comparison to bent bolts?

  • I like them as well, although this type rifle has too much distance (in my opinion) between the trigger and the bolt handle, and makes rapid firing more difficult.

  • You could lop the straight bolt handle off and weld on a custom one and bend it to where the handle is over the trigger, much like the French did with the MAS 36 nad the British did with the Pattern 14/No.3 Mk.1 rifle if you want to remedy that, but I wouldn't butcher a good Finn M91.

  • Howabout an Arisaka? The bolt is right above the trigger. Which do you think is faster: straight or bent bolt. Also it would be great if you did a video with an Arisaka.

  • Good shooting man! I love your vids, I'd love to shoot at those distances but in my country it just isn't possible.

  • looks like the ejector is worn... or do all mosins have weak ejection? great vid as usual!

  • Thanks! The ejector is fine, I just work it open easy so the the brass doesnt fall far. Thanks again!

  • that's a manly sounding rifle

  • Ok, no sarcasm here. You have got to be one macho son of a gun to operate the safety as you did in the beginning of the video... I have 3 mosins including an SA marked sako M39 and each one just gets harder and harder to use! lol

  • :-) Thanks, as it gets colder and as I get older it becomes more difficult... Thanks! E.

  • LOL, I had the same thought! My 91/30's safety was such a hog I just didn't use it.

  • @Dp908 AMEN!

  • Did you just get this rifle? and if so, may I ask, AIM?

  • I found it very cheap, the gun shop thought it was a standard 91.30 and sold it to me for very little.

  • wow, they have the exact specimen on AIM right now. Good find. =]

  • hmm good one

sir i am really interested that if you can test Ak47 on long range shooting.

and post more of musket guns videos
