It would be interestin to see the whole thing Mine if you could please? He certainly was a unique person. I can't imagine seeing him on the streets in the 40's. I didn't even know what "gay" was until I was 19 and then I was shocked when I did take it in that it was possible! lol Now, I just think that we need to let people live their own lives with all the kindness we can have for each other.
He was also a very brave man. He was "out" long, long before homosexuality was legalised, in 1967, but never compromised, even when he was beaten up on sight. He just carried on being him. There's an award winning movie about him called "he Naked Civil Servant" starring John Hurt as Quentin.
Quentin Crisp was an Interpreter of Life as he translated people, places and experiences into the wonderful work that he gave us all throughout his tenure in the flesh.
What did he say at the end? Man, this man totally fascinates me. There is something about his voice, his mannerism, his non conformism that is utterly intriguing.
...how many people do you know that can say this?....

He has remained the same throughout his life. He never changed...he simply waited for the world to change around him.

Quentin Crisp would have been perfect to make a cameo in the Jackass movies much like Rip Taylor and John Waters!

Quentin Crisp was unique. He is without question the one and only elderly man I would ever describe with the word: "cute",
but his personality, his grin, his speech and humble manner are timeless and adorable. I miss him always.

I remember watching this as a child. Quentin and I were phone-friends and pen-pals for the last 4 years of his life...Oh, how I miss him.
