'98 6R is still going to put out about 100 HP, and can get you into trouble if you're not careful. For a beginner, probably very powerful but still manageable... just be "smart" when riding and you should be fine.

Question here. I'm thinking of moving up from a 250 next year. I like the 00-02 zx-6r (now ZZR 600), but i noticed all the kawasakis from that model and earlier have the fairing cage over the bars. I've never ridden a bike with those on, do they get in the way at all?? It just seems like they would be annoying to stretch around....

you can pick that undertail up on e-bay or i believe it's hotbodies.e-bay is usually alot cheaper i found.i bought one close to the same but using stock led tail light for $100 cdn came with LED signals and plate bracket

I believe it was 2003 that the zx6r was last carburated.
