Just 'cause there was a lot of items and Samus was Zero Suit at the beginning.

Items were set on high and to get Zero Suit you hold the shield buttons while picking Samus on the select screen.

The point in hating items is, if you don't use them you're not used to them when they are in, and they tend to kill you... a lot. I should know, I absolutely hate items. It's simple, if you use items(to win matches) you have little or no skill.

If the items are in for fun then it's different. But competetively items are for people who can't play the game good enough to kill without them.

@PrinceShion I can play with or without items, but items are more fun. However, relying on items too kill is perfectly fine. When I play as Peach, its really easy to rack up damage. But, as is the problem with Peach, it is really hard to get the killing blow. So thats when I use an item. I'm just as good without items, but it just takes a little longer.

I play competitively, so yeah, I'm not really into items much except for when we get bored and say "HEY LETS PUT EVERYTHING ON!" and blah blah blah. Peach is one of my mains, and I completely understand that it's extremely hard to kill with her. All I was saying was that items take no skill to win with, even at low level play.

But yeah, trying to kill with peach sucks, doesn't it? x3

@PrinceShion Not true. A skilled player could very well annihilate a "non-skilled" item user even more so than he regularly would because items are skillful to use. Diddy Kong has items in his pocket all the time but you don't see him banned from tournaments and you see people using them very skillfully. It requires the same deception, timing, throwing, and choosing that any other game requires.

THAT is what Brawl IS all about. The whole reason we have items is FOR big matches for FUn like this. That's what Nintendo is all about; crazy stuff happening everywhere all the time. LOL It's from Peach, to ZSS, to...KOOPA SHELL?! WTF?! LOL

However, I do beleive the world's current champion players deny items (save Smash Balls) for the fact they feel items run on "luck" and, like tripping, take away from a person's ability to play on pure SKILL. While this may be the case, it isn't true. 5/5
