  • so peaceful

  • i like this song

  • My comment refers Harry Gill's comment that the mool mantre is only 25 seconds but the quality of the preformance of the singer is so astronomical that I loved every minute of it. Give it a break.

  • Why have ppl disliked this! Haters!

  • On the name of god its always one thing ..........Peace....World is facing lots of dangerous issues like global warming...Under the influence of this beautiful prayer I want to urge my every brother and sister to come on a common platform named humanity and distribute love....Because this is the only thing which can make us grow from Being only Hindu ,Muslim Sikh or christian

  • I really tried a lot to find the root cause of this biased mentality of my Sikh brothers ...I Don't really know and truly nt even interested in knowing whether Sikhism ever related with Hinduism or not...But I know one thing very well that I love all Sikh guys I have ever met and apart from any personal issue, I believe every Hindu have the same love and affection for Sikhs ...But whenever I see some non sense comments on this kind of platforms I really get hurt..

  • What is sad to me is that even though hindus and sikhs are all of the same race, there is so much negativity and bad mouthing of both religions. I'm sure if Guru Nanak Dev ji were here, he wouldn't be too happy. Hinduism is Hinduism, and Sikhi is Sikhi. no mixing of religions, Sikhi is not one or the other. Let's all try to be civil here people.

  • so peaceful

  • @143deven1 Mool Mantar

  • @143deven1

    Sat Sri Akal Ji.

If you are referring to MOOL MANTRA, it starts from 0.00 and completes at 0.25. Song continues upto JAP JI SAHIB 1st part (PHELI POODI).

    Regards

  • yo just change ur name whoever put this amazing video up.The name criminal does not sound good with something as nice as this.Other than that thumbs up

  • I am muslim but this holy prayer is so beautifull..........and gives so much satisfaction..............n truly think GURU NANAK JI........IS the sage of god...

  • @ Kharrilall That's Guru Nanak Dev Ji's hand @ 39 seconds he has a mala on one hand and the other hand is set on the floor with his legs crossed.

    It's not a childish question... :)

Everyone views art differently in this case its a picture of Guru Nanak who was our First prophet. Sikhism comprises of 10 guru's who were our "prophets" teaching the Sikhs about Sikhism establishing the religion.

  • Comment removed

  • @kharrilall listen mr kharri if you are so curious to know everything about sikhs and sikhism go to a true sikh .And then you will understand. And do not show your brain by asking what seems to be a hand under his clothing .WHAT A CHILDISH QUESTION. I THINK YOU DO NOT KNOW THE MEANING OF BELIEVE FAITH AND TRUST.

  • Comment removed

  • @kharrilall The image at 39 seconds is Guru Nanak Ji... He is the one of the 10 Gurus of Sikhism.

Sikhs have a god, but this god has no name, no form, he is not human, he created everything and whatever happens happens because of him. He is also known as 'Waheguru' (Wonderfull Guru)

Sikhs often say 'He' when refering to god because it would sound odd saying 'It'..

I hope this helps dude :)

  • i am a hindu, but i respect sikhism a lot, the preachings of bravery and honesty by this youngest religion of world are two virtues which everyone should posses......i like this prayer a lot and i can recite the lines too....god willing one day in life i will visit harmandir sahid(golden temple)......WAHEGURU

  • Very relaxing music and beautiful images. Thanks, peace be with you , brothers and sisters.

  • guru nanak dev wasent a hindu he was born to a hindu family since wen did hindus started wear turbans and not cutting there hair and following the 5 Ks he was a sikh and he was against worshiping idols which hindus do...guru nanak ji came to teach ppl especially hindus cuz they were cowards tht time R555F999 go read history b4 u say shit outta ur hindu mouth

  • very nice and such a sweet voice - god bless you for uploading this - and by the way 'xtremeownage2' for your kind info:~ the Great Almighty Guru Nanak Dev Ji was CLEARLY NOT a muslim - he was a Khatri Hindu - Obviously you dont know a thing about sikh history ,especially from the start!!

  • stfu u stupid muslims guru nanak ji didnt take n e thing frm ur stupid religion he wrote everything by himself yes he did talk bout all the religions in the guru granth sahib...u muslims shud convert to sikhism cuz its new who knows some crack head probly created islam who knows no offence tho lol

  • beautiful, Thanks for sharing

  • I was reading some of the Sikh's scriptures and I came across these verses of the Guru Granth Sahib, that Nanak supposedly spoke:

    Page 141:

    "Shalok, First Mehl:

It is difficult to be called a Muslim; if one is truly a Muslim, then he may be called one.

First, let him savor the religion of the Prophet as sweet; then, let his pride of his possessions be scraped away.

  • Becoming a true Muslim, a disciple of the faith of Mohammed, let him put aside the delusion of death and life.

As he submits to God's Will, and surrenders to the Creator, he is rid of selfishness and conceit.

And when, O Nanak, he is merciful to all beings, only then shall he be called a Muslim."

  • So doesn't Nanak clearly say that he is a Muslim... And from what we learn through history, couldn't it be possible that he be a Muslim who has an open mind, that believes in One God, and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as God's messenger?

And the later Gurus just took his works for their own ideas.

Just wondering, because it shocked me to see this in your scriptures...

  • Do you have a quote for this idea!!

    LOL

  • Do we know if there's a full version of this and, if so, what it is and where one can get it?

  • is this the full version or is there a longer one ?

  • I like this a lot ... but i'm not sikh and don't really know it's meaning so cud someone please tell me it's meaning so that i understand it better ?

  • God is but one, His name is Truth.

    The Creator, Immortal.

He is without fear, without hatred.

    Unborn, Self-existent.

By Guru's Grace, He is known.

    Embrace His meditation.

True in the prime, True in the beginning of ages.

True even now, O Nanak! And True He shall be.

  • is there a longer verison ?

  • Dear Sangat Ji, it appears there is still no full (up to the 1:28) translation of what is being recited. Although I would like to stress that a 'Translation' of any Gurbani (Guru's Words) removes some of the True meaning, I will still post an English Translation so many can experience a fraction of what Divine State our Guru's wanted man to experience. I would like to begin by explaining that................

  • pls tell me what i should be thinking of

when i hear this lovely prayer...rgds jr

  • Well that's a very personal question, and probably different from person to person. However, you could start by concentrating and contemplating on the translations given here, and try to feel and meditate on the presence of Vaheguru(God) deep within your own self and all around you..

  • Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj is the Living Eternal Guru for ALL Sikhs, and unlike any other religion's main Holy Scripture, it was actually written and composed by the Prophets of the Religion (10 in Sikhism). In addition to this, again unlike any other religion, the Guru Granth Sahib Ji contains hymns from people outside of the religion, such as Hindu & Muslim Saints. These were carefully collected and compiled by the Sikh Guru's who knew it to be the True Word of God.

  • Guru is one and that is Shri Guru Granth Sahib. I object if u say He is Guru of Sikhs (the community) only for He shows the path of life to ANYONE who has faith. It is true that every follower of the Panth *must* submit to Him but He isn't limited to only one community. Pls don't use the phrase 'other religion'. The philosophical agreement brings the baani from saints other than disciple-chain of Guru Nanak Dev ji and it is much above symbolisms that define hate-mongering sects today. Waheguru.

  • Hello 'iamjoginder', you outlined me as saying,He is Guru of Sikhs, when it is clearly written I said, ...Eternal Guru for ALL Sikhs. Firstly, I didn't say 'He',please also note that Sikhism states that God is genderless neither He or She. In terms of what I did write, I meant that there are many so-called 'sects' that have divided Sikhism today and some still call themselves Sikhs even though they do not even see Guru Granth Sahib Ji as their Guru! (Hence why I put 'ALL' in capital letters).

  • .....Yes, Guru Ji is the eternal enlightener for ANYONE who has faith, but Guru Ji can only be your Guru if you are Guru Ji's disciple. So, by me stating that Guru Granth Sahib Ji is Guru for ALL Sikhs does not imply a limitation to just Sikhs, but rather that ANYONE in God's infinite creation who wishes to become a follower in the practice and teachings of Sikhism should see Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj as their only Guru and absolutely NO-ONE else.

  • .....I used the phrase 'other religion' because although Sikhism isn't a religion in the strictest sense of the term, it is a way of life. In today's society however, 'religion' is a label to how different beliefs are distinguished. Guru Nanak Dev Ji did not intend to found any religion nor wished to propound any specific religious cult. Vaheguru.

  • It is said that the Whole meaning of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji is contained in Jap Ji Sahib, and that the Whole meaning of Jap ji Sahib is contained in the Mool Mantar, and consequently the Whole meaning of the Mool Mantar is contained in ''Ek oa-n-kaar''.........

  • Now, the opening 'Angs' or 'limbs' (Not 'Pages' since the Guru Granth Sahib Ji is considered to be the LIVING embodiment of ALL the Sikh Guru's, NOT A 'BOOK') starts with a prayer called, Jap Ji Sahib. It was written by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj and consists of the Mool Mantar, an opening Salok, a set of 38 Pauris (hymns) and a final Salok..........

  • What is being recited By Harshdeep Kaur in this Video is only the Mool Mantar, the opening salok, and the first Pauri (hymn)

    So the English Translation is:.........

  • One Universal Creator God. The Name Is Truth. Creative Being Personified. No Fear. No Hatred. Image Of The Undying, Beyond Birth, Self-Existent. By Guru's Grace ~

    Chant And Meditate

True In The Primal Beginning. True Throughout The Ages

True Here And Now. O Nanak, Forever And Ever True

By thinking, He cannot be reduced to thought, even by thinking hundreds of thousands of times.......

  • By remaining silent, inner silence is not obtained, even by remaining lovingly absorbed deep within.

The hunger of the hungry is not appeased, even by piling up loads of worldly goods.

Hundreds of thousands of clever tricks, but not even one of them will go along with you in the end.

So how can you become truthful? And how can the veil of illusion be torn away?

O Nanak, it is written that you shall obey the Hukam of His Command, and walk in the Way of His Will. ||1||

  • One Universal Creator God. The Name Is Truth. Creative Being Personified. No Fear. No Hatred. Image Of The Undying, Beyond Birth, Self-Existent. By Guru's Grace ~

    Chant And Meditate

True In The Primal Beginning. True Throughout The Ages

True Here And Now. O Nanak, Forever And Ever True

By thinking, He cannot be reduced to thought, even by thinking hundreds of thousands of times.

  • I am indian

  • Sat Naam Shri Wahe Guru , Wahe Guru ji kaa Khalsa , Wahe Guru ji ke Fateh , I just love this ... Proud to be Punjabi

  • Uplift your souls even further, through listening to the wonderful messages of Guru Nanak Dev at The Sikh Course, in the UK! Google the course and register your seat. Let your spirit soar!!!

  • I am Sri lankan girl, But I want to give my utmost thanks for the payer and for writing to us that in English Language.

  • hi...this is really nice ...which album is this from i would like the full version if possible ...thank-you

  • a bohut sohna bolea its nice yh

  • i greatly appreciate ur effort to translate this in a language we can understand... but can i just ask another favor: can u pls continue till the end of the 1:28 minute song.... plsssssss.... thanks in advance...

  • This is the "Mool Mantra" Ek Onkar: There is only one god Saat Naam: His name is TRUTH. Karta Purkh: The Creator Nir Bhao: Without Fear Nir Vair: Without Hate Akaal Moorat: Beyond time. Ajooni: Un-born (Not-incarnated) Saibhan: Self-Existence Gur Prasad: By the gurus grace, he is obtained Jap: Embrace his meditation. Aad Such Jugaad Such: True in the prime, True in the beginning of ages. Hai bhee such nanak hosee bhee such: True He is even now and True He verily, shall be, O Nanak!
  • i just love the song... i even memorize it... but its odd coz i dont even know what it means... i knw its praising the Divine but i really want to know the whole meaning of it...

so pls, can somebody do it for us who doesnt know the language????

  • ... i can understand that translating it would make it impossible to employ the exact meaning... but can u just please try at least for us who dont understand the language...plssssssssssssssss

  • Very very powerful words...they carry the "secret" of the universe if you meditate on the meaning...thx for posting! There's no point in explanation as it would fall short of the true meaning, but it talks about oneness of the higher being in essence. As far as nasty comments from some posters, they don't mean anything at all. Just a reflection on where they are in their lives, be it anger, hatred or division. Satnam waheguru!

  • My fellow brother, everyone that has ever been born has had to suffer a physical death including every one of your prophets from Adam to Mohd. The Sri Guru Granth sahib ,contains the eternal light of the creator this existed in all the previous Gurus and was never extinguished will exist for all of eternity.

  • the 2 comments below are a reply to AllahisMyLife.

Just as you did not know the hour, second, minute of your birth neither did you know who your parents were going to be, also you did not know what "religion" you were going to be born into. Only our true creator knew this and the reasons why. Live your life as a true muslim, with compassion, toleranceand love for our creator and all his creation, for your time here is but a mere blink of an eye and you do not know the hour, min,sec of your passing.

  • AllahIsMyLife, your comments show to which true religion you belong.
