Killing Phanto? That's quite impressive! I'll look through more of your vids. I'm sure you are aware, some might not be, that this game wasn't originally a Mario game. Originally it was a game in Japan called "Doki Doki Panic" but they changed some of the cosmetics for this (US) Mario 2 version. Lost Levels is the SNES version of the original Mario 2 released in Japan. Anyway, I noticed later on in one of your videos that you already knew the invisible object thing. That's cool.
I never killed Phanto myself yet, but I know how to now after seeing it. Also, I played Doki Doki Panic a while back on an emulator after finding a rom. I also played the original/Japanese version of Super Mario Bros 2 on an emulator & bought the disk, but I don't have the Famicom or the Famicom Disk System to play it yet. As a kid, I knew that the Japanese version of SMB2 was a different game. But I didn't know about DDP until researching it on the internet.
@wtcvidman That's cool. Never knew about the Japanese SM2 and Doki Doki Panic until 3 or 4 years ago on the net. Before I found out I started to have a hunch that SM2(US) was a remake of another game. Not sure why. SM2 was my favorite Mario game for a long time. When 3 came out I liked it but was still so into 2.
Never seen the turtle shell thing before. That's cool. Been a long time since I played this but you know how you throw a turnip and a guy, it hits him, you get on that turnip again, and pick it up real fast at 2:47? I do believe, if my memory is correct, if you throw a bad guy at another bad guy and try to pick one of them up like you do the turnip, you'll pick up nothing. Literally! It's like you're holding something but nothing is there. Then you can throw nothing but doesn't do anything.
You have to time it just right. That is if my memory is correct. I know this for a fact: you can pick up nothing in this game and have done it a lot. But not 100% sure if that was how it's done but I really believe so.
Yeah, I've done that many times while playing the game. I did it as one of many other tricks in my Super Mario Bros. 2 Tricks #1 video along with making the SMB1 music from Subspace loop continuously, making the key squeal, and a few others. The amount of tricks you can do in this game is quite high. I found out how to kill Phanto after watching the AVGN's Glitches video.
