This is from the nightshow live at Düsseldorf 1983, probably one of the best Maiden Live-shows off all time. This is incredible good. Listen to ''The Trooper'' at this stage. SO GREAT. And off course ar the off. video.
I never see anything by Metallica et al that ever quite soars like the mighty classic Maiden do here in their finest hours. Just observationally speaking! Love my metal in general, just noticed the crowd here going wild with the music in a way I never see anywhere else. Maybe I am mistaken!
@AwsomeDMan i know exactly what u mean. i go into school wearing badass cowboy boots, ripped jeans, maiden sabbath or blue cheer shirt, demin jacket and thats considered weird I go to a fucking performing arts school (laguardia). i dont really care tho because my band and i have long hair dress funny and play very loud inside school. we even made some people that go to the school for music leave the area(either we were too loud or too good)either way that made me happy (some people even watched
@AwsomeDMan was fun back then- everyone did there own thing - alot of experimenting ... seems like if your young nowadays your into rap-lol,,, i got over the rhyming crap in kindergarden lol gets old
I think there´s something wrong, because this stage is from PEACE OF MIND TOUR, at 1987 (I think so) and 22 Acacia Avenue was released in 1984, at the number of the beast album
@vedder1976 This concert is from 18.12.1983, it's the last of the World Piece Tour. "22 Acacia Avenue" is from The Number Of The Beast album from 1982. Cheers.
Iron Maiden and Eddie will live forever. Powerslave '85 Seattle Center Coliseum was an awesome show. I could still smoke weed at a concert back then:) Why do all you posers use fake names? Ashamed? You should be... cowards!
@pegasuslover97 You're the lucky asshole. Your 18 - a kick ass age, and you get to listen to Maiden. The 80s were a good time to be a teenager though! :)
@AlecGuedel1 hahaha true. still, i'm sure it was much more kick ass to be a teenager in the 80's when maiden and priest owned the stage instead of like justin bieber and all that shit
@pegasuslover97 you're right. the 80s were a good time to be a teenager. I hate to rub it in but got to see Priest at the Screaming for Vengeance tour in Seattle '82 and Defenders of the Faith tour in Tacoma '84. However, I'm 42 now but still rock, play drums for a Maiden cover band, and work in a nightclub :) I still envy the young though! Rock on! be careful and be smart - pegasuslover97
@AlecGuedel1 weird dude that's kinda around where i'm at. i'm seeing ozzy at the tacoma dome in february. i saw maiden twice and queensryche all at the white river ampitheatre in auburn. haha it sounds like you're still having a pretty good time then. hope things keep going good and up the irons!
My favorite bands are the ones who are fair to their members. Bands suck when the bassist is invisible (Metallica), or when the drummer doesn't get any freedom, or when only one guitarist is soloing. I prefer bands with even usage of it's members, such as Iron Maiden, and Death, and Megadeth too for that matter.
I picked up the DVD of this show off of ebay a few years ago...Maiden, Priest, Scorps, Ozzy, Quiet Riot, and a few other bands I can't think of...incredible stuff...Metal was at it's peak then and hadn't been taking over my pop and Thrash.
I remember when I first saw that picture of them in the desert next to spacecrafts - it felt like they really were this band who had arrived from another world!! Back then they were immortal.
bring back the old maiden to concerts,if bruce was in perfect prime he could do like ...killers just as good as paul.he doesnt have it for that song, but bruce is maiden after paul.
I like this sound, i don't know reason, but here and on "The Prisoner" sound is more heavy. It's ibanez destroyer, mb amps which they don't use now... Anyway, here is more heavy sound than now.
i was living in Germany when this was aired in 1984, it was a repeat, i recorded it and still have the whole concert on tape..Scorpions followed after Maiden..this performance is one of my fav Maiden concerts ever! UP THE IRONS!!!!!
I disagree. Been a fan since 1985 and IMO their live performances have never been better than the last decade. Bruce was really hit or miss in the 80's.
