hey do you no how the alarm works on the mayfair i cant work it out and every time i open my door or put the egnition on it goes off i get the alarm going off and the signal lights

@ttaMLowe Must be an aftermarket alarm. Mayfairs never got them.

There pretty good, not as good as a proper set of recliners though. But I still managed to drive the whole length of the country in them!

really? thats bad! in fact thats worst than the origional 848cc.

I've done a bit of checking and it turns out they had 38 - 40bhp. Bit better than I thought!

also whats the standard output of a mini 998cc from mid-late 80s? i know the 1275cc from the 90s was 49bhp and 63bhp in the cooper.

You've got me there. But if I had to guess, I'd say around 30bhp. My Mini had one of those when I first got it - gutless doesn't describe it! LOL

If you hunt around you should get one for that. There's such a high demand for Mini's in good nick though, they can sometimes fetch silly money. Try looking in Mini magazine or Mini world, they have a big classified section at the back full of Mini's. Happy hunting!
