It's feb 2011 and I'm seeing this for the first time! So glad you are doing so good now! Your diet back then sounds TERRIBLE! and breakfast had to be the worst! An apple and half a cucumber? I feel for you! Anyways I'm a subscriber now any love your voice!
i got mine removed when i was 10,twice.i got one half removed because they wanted to see if the toomer was cancer...well it was,and it was the sise of an clementine and then they discovered i had another one the sise of a lego block.
but was a 10 yr old boy and thats really rare and now they think I have blood/heart disease, and eye disease....so i think my time will be up by the time im 20.....but im on the 150 dose too and im still fightin
Thank you so much for posting these videos! I have PTC too, and I had my surgery last week. When I got back from the hospital, I felt alone since I didn't know anyone around my age who had thyroid cancer. Watching your videos really helped me. I sing too, and I can't wait to be able to sing again. I'm glad that you are able to sing again after your surgery. I also decided to post my own videos about my experience, and I just posted my first video yesterday. Thanks again!
well i can relate with ur story :) but mine was hyperthyroidism... i had my surgery 2 yrs ago... well i cannot tell here my whole fairytale... lmao i mean "whole story".... well lots of guy chasing me now... (^_^) but for my revenge i just snob them 'coz they were ignoring me when i was sick
I had my thyroid removed in oct 2008. The scar is almost gone. How is your scar now? Do you have parathyroid problems? I have to take extra calcium now (in addition to synthroid). How are you doing now?
I hated the drainage tubes. and when they pulled them out they were like.... fkdlsjfldksjfldkjflksjfds GROOOSSS, it was funky god you sound just like me. i went through this WHOLLLLEEEE ordeal.
when i went through my radiation, i ate Grapes, and Gummy worms. xD lmao.
you're a strong girl. I saw your video after surgery and compared to this video Im happy to see you are doing very well..i hope everythings ok and always stay strong
hey uarea filipina huh... thats nice.. anyways, whats urcurrent dose? me im taking100mcg mwf, and 88mcg the rst of the week... but i dont feel fine now, i just had my blood test yesterday and im getting the result tomorrow.. i feel like im over medicated again.. but i hope not.... -)
thats good to know... thnk u for replying.... anyways, right now i currently take 3 calcium carbonate tablets with vit d on it.. how boutu? have ur dose of calcium lessen already?? coz i used to take 9 after my surgery.. im hopingfor moe sharing here.. ;-) mwaaahhzz!!! i love urvoice bu the way...
Yeah, after my surgery I was taking quite a cocktail of medications. The vitamin D pills are mainly to help you absorb the calcium pills that I'm sure you took also.
Right after the surgery, the parathyroid glands which are attached to the thyroid are "shocked". They regulate calcium in your system so that's why the levels can get all funky for a few months. I discontinued the pills 'cause my parathyroids are working properly now.
hi i also have had my thyroid whole.. taken out just last year... and im soooooooooo happy to see that u are super okay. coz me im still not..i also sing.. and yeah life sucks withputa thyroid.. i just wanna ask u how do u feel before urperiod?? do u feel awful???
:( oh my goodness... honestly, i've been a huge fan of yours since i first stumbled upon your amazing voice. Just today after seeing this video in the "related videos" box, i found out that you've gone through this terrible ordeal! I had no idea until today. Here's wishing you the best :)
perhaps you could update me on when you post new videos?
ok , i didn't see this one ... sorry ... i'm gonna subscribe though .. i'd really like to know how things turn out .. in the mean time , i'll b praying for you .
wow, i feel so bad for you, but you seem to be staying pretty positive. that's really good. i miss your music! i hope you feel better and everything works out. good luck, and GET BETTER!!
well I had 4 tumors; the cancer spread to some lymph nodes in my neck. The reason I'm getting radiation is to prevent that from happening; it's imperative that my doctors kill all the thyroid tissue in my system.

Haha, hey has the surgery affected your voice?

it has unfortunately...my speaking voice is a lot deeper, contrary to my initially squeaky voice.
it took a while to start singing again too...it sucks.

if cancer spread to the lymph nodes whole body scan is recommended to make sure that your lungs are clear from cancer spread.
wrr714 2 years ago
yep, I had one of those.
It took like 3 hours in a really uncomfortable position. :/
One lymph node tumor got into my chest but my doctor was able to reach down and grab it to avoid breaking my sternum.
danedane101 2 years ago
"avoid breaking my sternum"

yeah i bet u do when did u have the surgery and how long have u been clear for? also did u have to have radiation or not?

I had the surgery last month, and my radiation treatment starts next Friday.

hey wow i didn't realise how much u could not eat i have just been diagnosed with thyroid cancer so its good to have info from survivors
lowwymoo 2 years ago
ayyyyye, such a bummer.
It's not so bad, but the diet sucks butt. Like seriously, if this cancer doesn't kill me, I swear malnutrition will. :P
I've been eating rabbit food for the past 3 weeks!
:[ I want so badly to jump into a tub of salty, cheesy food and then indulge in creamy sweets. :]]]]
