As far as Dr. Paul morally and legally rejecting abortion: as an OBGYN, he can be held legally accountable if he commits an act that harms an unborn child. So perhaps a woman does have a right to privacy and choice in the matter of abortion, but if we employ the same basic legal principles on parents in charge of a child's life as doctors in charge of a child's life, one could argue that the father could have grounds for pursuing tort justice against the mother. Just my two cents worth.

@a25zkmiz91 It has to do with whether you consider a fetus a human being or not. Does a mother have the right to kill her 3 year old child? Of course not. If you follow this logic back earlier in development, it follows that a mother can't kill her unborn child either. But if you actually listen to his position on abortion, it is that the Federal government should not be legislating on the issue at all and it should be left to the states.

Just saying leave a persons rights to the state and to the vote doesn't make sense to me. The federal government has to make sure that there truly is freedom for all not just the the majority of christians. In most states gays would be denied equality, women wouldn't be allowed to do with their body as they choose and the rich would continue to exploit the poor. He doesn't support drug legalization or gay marriage he simply supports allowing smaller levels of government to remove your rights.

Now here's a guy who is not confused about what he believes in, doesn't have to check to see which way the wind is blowing, and just stands by his principles.
