I know this trick,and is 100% working its alot faster...And thats is because every directory in r PC have that prefetch and it set to 0 when you make it on 1 sortcut knows where to reat that program and its faster..

If you need to know what happens, prefetch is a device (boolean) injected into your computer. It basically just grabs the program and starts making it work right away instead of loading properly.

I suspect that the "add /prefetch:1 to make rocket go now" urban legend will never die, though. I know that at least one major company ships products with it in their shortcuts, without ever asking us... just for good measure, I guess. :-P All it does is change your hash number -- the OS is doing exactly the same thing it did before, and just saving the prefetch pages to a different file.

How I understand this works is when you but in /prefetch in the target of a program it tells the computer to load the big parts of the program into its memory under a standby, so when you click on it the computer only needs to fetch small amounts of information to start the program because most of the program has already been loaded before you even have clicked on it.

This is good for frequently used programs but I would suggest that you not do it to everything unless you have allot of extra memory in your computer because it will tie some of it up preloading programs.

I see what you mean it dose that on the i tunes icon for me I don't Know why it is doing that. you may be able to get around it by the program files folder finding the executable file for program you want and and making a new shortcut. it should let you edit the target field after that.

this actually isnt good for your computer...what it does it uses all the ram you have not used at that milisecond and divides by 1.2 and uses that ram and slows EVERY thing else down
