  • Thank you so much for this video! Your kitchen and methods of a more "natural" sort of living are what I am trying to achieve currently in my first home. I am a 20 year old college student with 3 jobs and I find it difficult to find the time to cook properly and to forego more modern conveniences when I am in a pinch for time. I am really excited to try this recipe since it is quick and easy! Once again, thank you for the wonderful and very informative video. Keep up the good work :)

  • @LovelyxElizabeth Thank you so much for such a nice comment! I am overwhelmed at the thought of college and 3 jobs!!! Even at the tender age of 20 LOL. We haven't been able to keep up with you tube as much as we had hoped but we are working on some more cooking videos, woodstove and campfire and just some odds and ends stuff. Hoping to get them on soon. Thanks again!

  • Is that wind I hear screaming in the background? Thanks for showing the different ways to use the dough. I'm planning on making some hamburger buns tomorrow. And want to try dinner rolls too. And I could almost taste the breadsticks so am dying to make some now. Everything looked so yummy!

  • @aptharsia The "screaming" you heard was probably the water kettles on the stove. I was warming up water when I was making the vid, or it could have been our baby putting in his 2 cents:) Good luck with the buns and breadsticks, they are really easy. Couple things I should have mentioned in the vid was you can't over do the butter on the tops of them when you pull them out also a reminder with the buns, as long as your dough is light you don't need to let them rise, they will be too fluffy.

  • @ArtisanAcre I made a loaf of bread and some hamburger buns today! So easy to do! We are having burgers tonight, although my husband is looking at them a bit funny, they don't look like the kind like you buy in the store and he isn't too keen on change. :) But I can't wait to dig into them. If there is any left tonight, they are being turned into a big dinner roll for tomorrow. Again, thanks for posting the video, I wouldn't have tried the buns if not for it. Next on my list are the breadsticks.

  • @aptharsia I am so glad it turned out! I was wondering how you like the hamburger buns? Did you husband like them? I laughed when you said your husband isn't keen on change, I can relate! My husband is not a change kind of guy either. If you get a chance let me know how the breadsticks turn out. Those are one of our favorite treats! Sometimes I will melt mozz and or cheddar after I butter and garlic them then I will put the parm on, the cheeses add a little extra sometimes.

  • @ArtisanAcre I liked them! But hubby stuck w store bought buns, so only I ate them. He had dry buns and I had a yummy fresh one! Thanks I'll let you know how the breadsticks turn out! :)

  • This is the first video I've watched on youtube, where the "teacher" shows multiple items from one product. I have enjoyed all your video's so far. Really looking forward to future post. I now feel confident to move beyond bread. One question, did you put the salt on the pretzels after they were cooked and if so, how do you get the salt to stick?

  • @TheCajuntransplant: So glad you are enjoying the videos! After I bake the pretzels I use room temp butter and smear on them (lots of it ) and then I sprinkle kosher salt on. We sometimes use warm spaghitti sauce to dip them in. If the pretzels are crisp enough, once they are cold we also like to slice sharp cheddar cheese to eat on top of them, if the cheese is allowed to warm to room temp it has a better taste as a combo. Thanks again for your encouraging comment!
