Hi, why were you only willing to respond to my comments only before I pointed out that your stance was in opposition to the APA's?
You were willing to tell me that it had been "proven" that corporal punishment was beneficial and that I was "ignorant" for not knowing it. Please explain to me what your basis was for that.
I would just post specific links in this comment, but Youtube won't allow me to do that.
@nanoday1 mainly I stopped commenting because I have been too busy delivering a movie , well several movies actually,....and working multiple tea-party sites , as well as charities back ends . not enough time to play on youtube . hence why there haven't been new videos for nearly a year .
@PaintMaryconley spanking is beneficial because it proves that you will make good on a threat . it's not the first step of discipline there are many things that come first , verbal warning , chores, time out .then one one warning of getting smacked ,but if a child is THAT out of control a rap on the knuckles or and open handed smack on the bottom drives home that there are consequences to there actions .
@nanoday1 i did back up what i said repeatedly that was why you got a condensed statement i read back thru the comments and my answers are already there, if your to lazy to do the same .thats your problem
My comment had to do with the APA's stance on the effectiveness and appropriateness of corporal punishment. I was responding to your statement that said corporal punishment had been proven to be effective. Of course, you are/were wrong about that. Its effectiveness is debated and studies have linked it to violent personalities.
If you're unfamiliar with what I'm talking about, it's really not hard to find. I would post links here, but I can't.

I don't believe in hitting kids. It does convey "punishment", without a doubt. But it also causes severe emotional and physical damage too. I have seen it for myself. You can be politically informed and gentle :)
Did you not ever question yourself that Clowner probably only showed the ones that were not able to answer correctly? And that he left out the ones that could?
@PaintMaryconley No, I think you should stay away from kids. At least, if you actually believe hitting children is an acceptable or effective way of teaching. It's inane. Hitting children is not effective punishment, it's blind assertion of authority. It conditions children to be afraid of what will happen to them if they do something wrong rather than to be genuinely respetful towards their parents.
@PaintMaryconley "Those against spanking do not separate spanking from beating."
Of course, speaking for the whole of people who are "against spanking" is impossible. It's over-generalized. "your ignorant and do not understand discipline"
It's spelled "you're". "Spanking has not been shown to lead to spouse abuse."
I'm talking about child abuse, not spouse abuse. I don't understand how this is relevant.
I strongly encourage you to educate yourself a little more. I find it difficult to believe that you could not realize violent punishment is controversial even among very educated people. It has not been "proven" that spanking is beneficial in any way.
Did your parents spank you? You know, there are plenty of PhD certified people who would tell you that spanking can lead to aggressive personalities. I think it would explain a lot...
But, that definitely does not mean it's an ideal or even preferable punishment. There are much smarter/more productive things a parent could do than hit their children.
What makes PaintMaryconley's comment particularly strange is that she was talking about kids who were in college. Of course, that's not only non-productive, it's also illegal.
Why would you need to whack someone? You seem really hateful, maybe you hate yourself? Maybe you should do what I did and join the army... if you really want to cause pain to someone? Its fun they give you a machine gun you could shoot jihad crazy nuts instead of worrying about some pot head hippie?
The South was in the right?! Really?! Yes, you are correct on legality issues, however, not on a moral ground (slavery was not legal in the North). Slavery in Africa was NOT the same as in America. Slaves in Africa, in MANY cultures, were considered almost kin. The slavery in the US was MUCH MORE commercial. Hell, some slaves in Africa even gained inheritance. This is why this argument is ludicrous.
@ucsb1985 slavery WAS legal ion the north .. and the last slaves in thr south were those OWNED BY GRANT . ohh bet ya didn't know that one. have you ever READ the emancipation proclamation? it ONLY covered the CSA
@PaintMaryconley Vermont, abolished slavery in 1777, Mass in the 1780s, Penn 1780s, New Hampshire 1780s...pretty much slavery occurred WAY before the civil war. It WAS legal in the north, key word WAS. Now, the rationale that the Emancipation Proclamation covered the CSA was simply because the majority of Northern States abolished slavery about 90 years prior to the end of the civil war.
@PaintMaryconley Maryland and Delaware, the two Union states that allowed slavery, had a much higher percentage of freed Blacks than in the South. So, the extent was not nearly the same in the North. In Maryland, an amendment to the state constitution a year after the Emancipation Proclamation. The passage of the 13th, two years after the EP ended all slavery (some speculate that the EP was to garner support for the 13th, it's speculation). And I liked your "discussion" about African slaves.

Yes. The English word is Muslim. Musliman or Musselman is a transliteration of the Arabic, from which the English Muslim is derived, and while archaic, more grammatically correct that the use of "Islamic" as a noun.

I find it funny listening to older people talking about how good social conservativism was yet they now enjoy and couldn't live without the changes which were not possible at that time.
This woman is one snobby stuck up b-tch. Really, does she actually think that UC Berkley is different than any place else. Or that the video might have been edited. Who cares what you know woman you come off as an a--hole
Oh really, because I see a very well informed, intelligent, independent, young woman here.Wasn't that the purpose of the women's, Lib movement, making women independent thinkers & doers? You would probably love her, if she were using her qualities for the Liberal/Socialist cause, right?
No, Liberals find it hilarious when a woman is conservative. As the womens' rights movement (vote/speech/equality)was hardly born from conservative or republican thought . It's like slapping in the face all those who have a concept of social justice and helped you on your way.
@noleftturnunstoned wow shows how warped your history is . actually the first social and civil rights movements were all championed by republicans and conservatives bases .
Slavery is like the ancient version of socialism. You work hard and then someone else decides who gets the fruits of your labor. Of course they have to let you stay with a small portion so that you have the energy to go back to work tomorrow.
The important thing to remember is that slaves are all equal and they don't have to think for themselves. They just follow their "master". Kind of like modern liberals.
I am sorry but I don't know who to trust on telling me history in textbooks becaue my college books for American History 1301 and 1302 seemed leaning progressive and had alot of noticable wrong numbers and facts. I even told my professor and he just said, "yeah, thats how some are" just dismissing it. I was the only one who actually cared. What the heck is GOING ON?
Slavery is one of the oldest human institutions. I am sure if we could know the details of history we would see that we are all descended from at least one slave ancestor.
Black, Muslim slave traders made raids on Europe from about the 11th to 19th centuries. They kidnapped or killed about 3.5 million white Europeans from Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
The US government paid up to 25% of the federal budget in ransom for US merchant saliors. Finally the USMC put a stop to them in the Barbary Wars.
i clicked on the video but this girl looks like a snoby bitch so i stopped it. when it was common for people to have slaves i bet almost everyone who had a slave didnt think of slaves as people just tools, probably most didnt mean to think about them like that it was just screwed in there brains that they dont see what wrong with it..we are all screwed in the brains in one way or another..im high right now but im pritty sure this makes sense .peace
leeea,Libs always "talk" about moving the Nation forward, but can't let go of ancient history[using it as a crutch.]Socialism is a form of modern day Slavery, but you're not smart enough ta figure that /, huh?
Fact is only 2 % of Americans owned slaves, most of them being Southern Democrats, lol!
The slave trade in Africa was ongoing since the time of Pharonic (sp) Egypt and Roman Empire. That practice continued with Arabs, Tuaregs, others, before the rise of Islam, then kept right on going during Islam. Long time later, the Europeans come along, and just keep going with the already established economics.
But then, let's bash Europeans some more. They invented the plague, you know.
yes but in reference to Slavery in the united states which is all this is taking into account . it was largely warring African tribes and moors by the time it was brought here by traders.
I'm sure in the original video, there could have been many correct answers. But as segments like his have done before, he has only used the ones that make us go... "wtf?"
I'm sure that there is a large majority of students at UC Berkeley who are very intelligent and will grow up to be very great citizens of America.
I applaud this. Nothing is as it seems, I'm learning, and the "solutions" only cause more problems. More power to you, lady! If "my side" is wrong, I want to know it, but not listening to rancorous partisan comments.
That's cute. Really. 'Islamics' isn't even a WORD. Also, the early MUSLIMS (you know, your 'Islamics'), did not found slavery. Nor did they encourage its spread. People make mistakes. That's fine. But when you're trying to imply that you're SMART... it just makes you look like an ignorant dumbass.
No, it isn't. You can't even post the meaning because (big surprise coming up!) IT HAS NO MEANING. Reading the Koran? What the hell does that have to do with the origin of slaver- Ah you know what? This is a waste of time. How I loathe arguing with idiots. I'm out of here.
dont bash lincoln he was a Christian man, thats the problem if your not a Godless liberal evolutionists you prob wont get hired to teach many places, you should see ben steins movie Expelled...
Disgusting hippies scum. You are correct...Georgia has much to offer. = ) Heh damn hippies should have had to go get the switch themselves and get taken behind the woodshed.
lets not forget the 20 million child slaves in india, note india is on the favored trade status list that the state department so proudly flaunts so arrogantly in the news
Slavery in the south was already being phased out BEFORE the war started .
the States in the south made up a sovereign nation. and the Civil war wasn't about Slavery that was propaganda used late in the war to get more people to fight . by the time the north used it as propaganda the South had already offered freedom to any salve who wish or was already fighting for the confederacy. much like slaves who fought in the revolution were freeded for there military service.
...Stop right there. Throwing around the word idiocy is not a wise choice. If I know how to bake a cake and someone else knows how to fix a car, does that make that other person an idiot? Intelligence is something that is subjective and can be throw back at you for whatever knowledge you lack in a certain field.
I wonder if these IDIOTS from Berkely could or would even drive a vehicle with a manual transmission. Their apparent aptitude should scare everyone that drives on the highway.
um no.. the most PROGRESSIVE political movement of it's time was the Third Reich. and national socialism...
then again Marx was also very PROGRESSIVE. and in that thread so was Stalin , and Mussolini.
i guessing you whet to Berkley..
the american revolution was based on 2 things . 1freedom from big government, and 2 setting up Laissez-fair capitalism both rooted in freedom it was both a Conservative and a capitalistic notion based on the teachings and values of the free masons .
First off- I agree with much of what you said. Secondly, Lincoln was not as problematic as you think. The South was not a separate country- secession is illegal. "Islamics" isn't a word.
and it still IS it doesn't make it right but there are still countries ... mostly in Africa, and the middle east that STILL practice slavery .
and there has been documented cases of immigrants from these countries importing immigrants from other countries to use as house and sex slaves here in the US.
when people believe they are above the law of the land they will do things as they please .
which is why we shouldn't cowtow to unreasonable requests from other nationaities.
Look i am not from the U.S. myself, but i am from a western country and one thing i do not understand is why the "west" think that exporting the western way of life will benefit people from other countries. I was watching a television show the other day where i saw people handing out solar laptops, to an African bushman village where they had never seen laptops or computers. I was like? Uhhhh why do this people that have never heard of the internet even need laptops?
And there's more examples of western countries, actually making countries like these dependant on western aid. Now i am not pro slavery but i think that slavery might have different meaning to other cultures then our "western" cultures.
classical liberals, libertarians and most conservatives don't buy into that. our purpose is supposed to be to defend OUR borders . and we prefer non-intervention.. if you look at american history you'll see it's the progressives, democrats and so forth that do most of the invading.
Who says they want to stop living in the so called stone age? Most of the untouched cultures out there, still have the basic knowledge on how to utilize and protect natural resources to survive. They don't need all the modern appliances, which we need over here because we've been indoctrinated and deprogrammed to survive in natural conditions. Instead of making those countries dependant on our cultures, they should be dependant on their own culture.
have you seen the third world nations with government control dictators it seems they are very poor while the government has more power over the people. To me capitalism will help those nations.
Well the damage has already been done by the west a long time ago, so yes capitalism will indeed help those nations. They can't survive without western aid, the sad thing is that before the westerners went over to those places they had no need for our luxury. They could survive with skills they passed down from generation after generation.
StevenCrowder's Hippies Everywhere was so telling. Dumbing down of minds is not limited to UCBerkeley.Check out Howard Stern's Sal interviewing people in Harlem about McCain and Obama.
If I still lived in Richmond Hill,I would pay to have my sons hang out wih you all the time to try and counter the public schools American history fiction.
let's see if that idiot thinks taxation w/out representation is not a big deal when he actually has a job. college kids can be such idiots. i think people should have to be tested before voting kinda like at the dmv.
Uc Berkeley is a top tier university..You're probably a bitter private school kid who is paying 50k+ a year for an education thats worse than Cal's (8k+ LOL)
You sound just like Glenn Beck. American revolution was set up for Laissez-fair capitalism? Sure, that's why Alexander Hamilton proposed First Bank of the United States.
It's okay. You don't have to blow a gasket.

Oh really, because I see a very well informed, intelligent, independent, young woman here.Wasn't that the purpose of the women's, Lib movement, making women independent thinkers & doers? You would probably love her, if she were using her qualities for the Liberal/Socialist cause, right?
gunnyranger2 2 years ago
Liberals hate it when a woman is conservative it's like a neo nazi seeing a white woman with a black man.
llrotllort 2 years ago
No, Liberals find it hilarious when a woman is conservative. As the womens' rights movement (vote/speech/equality)was hardly born from conservative or republican thought . It's like slapping in the face all those who have a concept of social justice and helped you on your way.
noleftturnunstoned 2 years ago
@noleftturnunstoned wow shows how warped your history is . actually the first social and civil rights movements were all championed by republicans and conservatives bases .
PaintMaryconley 2 years ago

XCritonX 2 years ago 2
i clicked on the video but this girl looks like a snoby bitch so i stopped it. when it was common for people to have slaves i bet almost everyone who had a slave didnt think of slaves as people just tools, probably most didnt mean to think about them like that it was just screwed in there brains that they dont see what wrong with it..we are all screwed in the brains in one way or another..im high right now but im pritty sure this makes sense .peace

leeea,Libs always "talk" about moving the Nation forward, but can't let go of ancient history[using it as a crutch.]Socialism is a form of modern day Slavery, but you're not smart enough ta figure that /, huh?
Fact is only 2 % of Americans owned slaves, most of them being Southern Democrats, lol!

The slave trade in Africa was ongoing since the time of Pharonic (sp) Egypt and Roman Empire. That practice continued with Arabs, Tuaregs, others, before the rise of Islam, then kept right on going during Islam. Long time later, the Europeans come along, and just keep going with the already established economics.
But then, let's bash Europeans some more. They invented the plague, you know.
ShereKhanTiger 2 years ago
yes but in reference to Slavery in the united states which is all this is taking into account . it was largely warring African tribes and moors by the time it was brought here by traders.
PaintMaryconley 2 years ago
I'm sure in the original video, there could have been many correct answers. But as segments like his have done before, he has only used the ones that make us go... "wtf?"
I'm sure that there is a large majority of students at UC Berkeley who are very intelligent and will grow up to be very great citizens of America.

you just get it do you?

Do you know what was the most progressive political movement of it's time and really of all time?
The American Revolution
Redrio 2 years ago
um no.. the most PROGRESSIVE political movement of it's time was the Third Reich. and national socialism...
then again Marx was also very PROGRESSIVE. and in that thread so was Stalin , and Mussolini.
i guessing you whet to Berkley..
the american revolution was based on 2 things . 1freedom from big government, and 2 setting up Laissez-fair capitalism both rooted in freedom it was both a Conservative and a capitalistic notion based on the teachings and values of the free masons .
PaintMaryconley 2 years ago
First off- I agree with much of what you said. Secondly, Lincoln was not as problematic as you think. The South was not a separate country- secession is illegal. "Islamics" isn't a word.

Slavery is something that was practised all over the world.
Great video!
TheIncredibletruth 2 years ago
and it still IS it doesn't make it right but there are still countries ... mostly in Africa, and the middle east that STILL practice slavery .
and there has been documented cases of immigrants from these countries importing immigrants from other countries to use as house and sex slaves here in the US.
when people believe they are above the law of the land they will do things as they please .
which is why we shouldn't cowtow to unreasonable requests from other nationaities.
PaintMaryconley 2 years ago
Look i am not from the U.S. myself, but i am from a western country and one thing i do not understand is why the "west" think that exporting the western way of life will benefit people from other countries. I was watching a television show the other day where i saw people handing out solar laptops, to an African bushman village where they had never seen laptops or computers. I was like? Uhhhh why do this people that have never heard of the internet even need laptops?
TheIncredibletruth 2 years ago
And there's more examples of western countries, actually making countries like these dependant on western aid. Now i am not pro slavery but i think that slavery might have different meaning to other cultures then our "western" cultures.
TheIncredibletruth 2 years ago
that was the progressive FDR imperialism..
classical liberals, libertarians and most conservatives don't buy into that. our purpose is supposed to be to defend OUR borders . and we prefer non-intervention.. if you look at american history you'll see it's the progressives, democrats and so forth that do most of the invading.
PaintMaryconley 2 years ago
Um, so they can stop living in the stone age?
thafoofa 2 years ago
Who says they want to stop living in the so called stone age? Most of the untouched cultures out there, still have the basic knowledge on how to utilize and protect natural resources to survive. They don't need all the modern appliances, which we need over here because we've been indoctrinated and deprogrammed to survive in natural conditions. Instead of making those countries dependant on our cultures, they should be dependant on their own culture.
TheIncredibletruth 2 years ago
progressives.. no they still have this stratnge notion of king worship and can't seem to think for themselves.
PaintMaryconley 2 years ago
have you seen the third world nations with government control dictators it seems they are very poor while the government has more power over the people. To me capitalism will help those nations.
jp3711nc1 2 years ago
even then Capitalism only works if the people believe in it and defend themselves...
PaintMaryconley 2 years ago
Well the damage has already been done by the west a long time ago, so yes capitalism will indeed help those nations. They can't survive without western aid, the sad thing is that before the westerners went over to those places they had no need for our luxury. They could survive with skills they passed down from generation after generation.
