i think if they were gonna use wood tower that were they would of started i thing the carriers are past using wood great for telephone poles bad for 300 footers
The global deformation of the tower top was also measured. At the end of the test the cable was cut to measure the behaviour and the vibration of the tower... For this measure we have put some accelerometer in 3 direction and on 3 platform at 3 differents level (6, 14,and 22m height)
After cutting it was possible to measer with the accelerometers the tower vibration..
The purpose of this test was to test the behaviour of the timber pool tower and the connectors. The tower of 30m heigt was pulled on the top with a cable behind the truck. With deformations gauges and laser it was possible to see all the deformations arround the steels connectors.
