  • Gosh, I so miss my parents and the wonderful "houlie" upbrining I had with the Beamers. I've lost touch with them and the only memories I have are of Kawella Bay in the 60's and 70's. Folks say I should not go back now, I'd be disappointed.

I see the Beamer decendants are alive and well. Never lose your roots. Puena, Mahi and Sunbeam will forever be in my heart. Sunbeam sang this song at my mom's funeral...with her rich and memorable voice. I wish I had her in my life now.

  • love this song

  • The name of the horse " Morning Dew" . Was cherished my the late great Queen. Most of the meles have double meaning. The literal, sensual, enviromental and the sexual.

  • For those who don't understand what he's singing about, use the drop down menu , double arrows pointing down, where HawaiinSunset gives a description of what this video is. It will show you the Hawaiian words as well as translation.

  • Isreal Kamakawiw'ole sang about life, it's people, it's land. Always reminding us who we

are. By his music one can tell the message that he inbeds in all of us for home and country. I love this guy. We are all lucky in this generation for having him and sharing all his music. Rest in Peace. Loko Maika'i and Aloha.

  • This is one of our songs that represent who we are and what we stand for. It identifies

all of us thats away from home our" Hawaii.' Thanks for reminding me who i am, my culture, my heritage and my home Hawaii. Loko Maika'i ( From the heart) Aloha from Sahaurita, Arizona

  • The song is absolutely beautiful, as if anything less would have been expected of IZ! However it would have been nice to see other pictures utilized in this video to emphasize the words that he was singing. It would have made watching the video a little more interesting while enjoying Bruddah IZ's song and music.

  • his music was cool, shame he is gone.

  • so few voices touch ones heart and this voice was one of them. may 20th he would have been 50. we will be remembering him!

It's been 12 years & yet it seems just like yesterday when we used to laugh. I miss you but I know that we will see each other again.

The tears still flow when I hear your voice.

Your audience is now the angels in heaven & i'm sure you're holding court with your magical voice & laughter. God, I miss your laughter.

  • We went over to Hawaii 31 years ago for our honeymoon, since then we have been back several times to most of the islands. We hear a little something from every island in his songs. Over the years we have come to love Hawaii and its people, I have read everything I could read about this awsome man, it's almost like I know him. We think of Iz before we think of the beautiful flowers tree covered hillsides, canyons and beaches. I believe he is with the gods now watching over his beloved land Hawaii

  • I have just started to listen to his wonderful music...I must have been living under a rock to not have heard him before.

Thank goodness I did find him !

  • So beautiful. It brings peace to the heart and soul.

  • Thanks so much for the lyrics and translation! Helps me hear the simplicity and music behind all the orchestration.

  • I also thank you for putting this video up, many good works he has created, but many only know him by over the rainbow.... so sad, I wish ppl could open their eyes more and see truth, rather than just what's in front of them...

  • "Endless is the good that I have given you to enjoy..."

    King Kamehameha's last words may 8, 1819

I believe my cousin Iz, would have wanted his listeners to enjoy his good that he has given, than dwell on the death of an amazing person...

  • Israel kamakawiwo'ole and the last name means: the fearless eyes, the bold face, is simply Unreal! I love him and all his music... his persona, his soul.. I 'm so sad i cannot meet him to tell him how he touches me..

  • Thank you for the translation. The song is so beautiful. What an amazing gift IZ gave to us all.

  • E oni wale no 'oukou i ku'u pono a'ole e pau...

  • 'A'ole paha e hiki ana ia makou ke "oni" i ka pono, aka, e hiki ana paha ke na'i i ka pono.

  • Wow!

  • beautiful
