  • yeah but metal doesn't time out...after a certain timeframe.

  • @t6flyer2010: yeah but metal doesn't time out...after a certain timeframe.

JM: Huh? Ever heard of metal fatigue? Composites have a proven history in aviation. Either metal or composites are perfectly fine for airframes....when designed properly.

  • Don't know much about planes but is that an EICAS kind of set up?.

  • not sure if it is officially, but it does provide a lot of engine data and alerts

  • @derekwerek: Don't know much about planes but is that an EICAS kind of set up?.

JM: "Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System" Looks like it to me. EICAS, as far as I know refers to the dedicated screens in Boeings that do....Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System stuff. In other words, engine indicating and flight warning functions from the FWC flight warning computer, that generates your amber master cautions and red master warnings. I'd stick with factory labels though.

  • avionics master is not on because MFD is not on, battery master is on so PFD is on i have about 50 hours in G1000 love it, i wish the plane i fly had the flight directors

  • what brand or kind of engines are in those columbia's?

  • I wish I could fly in States. In Poland we pay 250$/hour for 1970 C172 :)

  • lol that sucks

  • indeed :D

  • The one We have At Oklahoma State University runs about $170USD an Hour

I have about 3 hours in it

  • wait you have G1000's at a flight school? god how much does the aircraft run an hour

  • kansas state @ salina has 5 G1000 C-172's, they run about $100 an hour!

  • No we have a G1000 at the flight school were I live and We start with the G1000 on. because it has our engine instruments on it. plus it wont hurt it because we run the avionics on a seperate battery until we get the engine started

  • Surprised that you can start it with all that electrical equipment on. I'd be scared to blow something!

  • Very valid point. I think we just had the avionics on in the case because we were going over them before startup.
