I really like the fender, I always thought this would make a really cool pickup combination. I am seriously thinking of making a custom bass like that, but I have some questions id like to ask. How does the bass sound with both pickups on? Is the volume output too different? Have you changed the pots, if yes to what values? Does the bridge cover fit with the badass bridge? Thanks. I promise to post a video reply when mine is ready :)
I really like the fender. I always thought this would make a cool pickup combination. I am seriously of a building a custom bass like this, but I would like to ask you a couple of questions since I am a little curious: A)Have you actually wired the bass so that you combine both pickups? If yes, can you describe this sound? B) Are the pickups really different in terms of volume output? C)Have you changed the pots if yes to what values?
a bunch of mis-matched vintage parts on a modern reissue instrument? 1975 tuners don't have magic properties. unless you're restoring a 1975 bass to increase its value, it's a waste of money.
Fender need to make a bass like this. The combination of a 51 Precision Bass and a 70s Telecaster Bass. That would be freaking awesome!
Imagine if they added a second single coil closer to the bridge too. Basically where the bridge pickup is on a Jazz Bass. That would give you so many tonal options, more than you would need really lol
My Personal opinion on the way people call this a Telecaster is that, its not a Telecaster at all, infact its the first design of the Precision bass, its just that Leo Fender based the design of this bass on a Telecaster guitar at this time due to not many Fender Electrics compatible with sound, also because alot of rock musicians at the time who played bass wanted something light and could be held like a guitar, thats why this was made and as time went on the shape changed
beto thanx for for tellin me wat song it was hey i wanna know wat a good pick up is i want it to sound like the gibson eb's or that fender price doesnt really matter
I love your reviews, especially the editing. Two things though...it seems as though the audio is distorting a bit and masking the true sound of the bass. Also, could you play with you fingers for part of the review so we can hear what it sounds like? Thanks...I subscribed :)
what kind of camera are you using????? it's amazing, I also love the bass and your bass playing, fantastic job!

Both basses sound great but they look awefull and would be much more valuable with the original parts on it.
Off course a bad ass bridge is an improvement but I would never put it on a original Fender bass from that era.

@weathered79 it says in the little box that it's a 1994 reissue. it's obviously been somewhat customized.
