He was a great player, but he was becoming more of a linebacker especially where he made nearly all of his big plays last season. What are you saying? Dawkins was not traded to Denver, he signed a new contract with them because the Eagles were offering him a joke of a deal. And how the hell is getting rid of a seven time pro bowl safety and ultimately a future hall of famer the best move for the team? Who cares if he was old? He could still play and he proved that last season. Sean Jones and Quentin Demps have no where near the ability that Dawkins had. And don't even get me started on the whole leadership aspect.

no he was let go, and traded to denver. it still was a good idea to trade him, you open up new spots for other people on the team. we freed up more money and got draft picks and players to help our team. which is why were going to the super bowl now. if we didnt we wouldnt of gotten an early enough draft pick to get another receiver in jermy maclin. or we wouldnt of gotten the best line in the league. mcnabb comes first, not dawkins. which is why hes on denver and now mcnabbs happy. we win now.

These are men and grown proffesionals. They don't need someone to tell them to play hard and 100% because they wouldn't even be there if they didn't. He was a great player, but he was becoming more of a linebacker especially where he made nearly all of his big plays last season. He only had 1 interception in all of last year and couldn't cover a reciever one on one in certain blitzes.

The Eagles are notorious for getting rid of big name players. A lot of the time the players end up sucking somewhere else, but some of them become impact players.
