Speeds are great but you have data caps on smartphone's which are technically PC's! Sorry to say I left Verizon Wireless because of the caps. I'm now with Sprint on their unlimited plan. I still have my Verizion FiOS though.
Since LTE is operating from the roof opposite my flat I can use my living room only for 3 mins before I have to leave again. In fact I now got side effects whereever I am in my flat. I will have to sell it or give it for rent.
Thank you mobile industry! Thank you mindless people!
I currently have Sprint. It's sad I've ran speed test on the 4G here in my home town (WiMax) and it tops out at 21 mbps! And 9 up. My buddy has Verizon and the download speeds are 4.12 MBPS? that's sad. WiMax has been out longer y'all just wait till Sprint's LTE advanced comes out it'll smoke it like a cheap cigar!!
Nice and great video Verizon! It's too bad that your CDMA technology is not widely accepted around the world. Won't it be awesome too stream with people around the world with 4g LTE! using
i got verizon 3g i won't bother watching this 4 minute vid , I don't have an hour to let it download . verizon 3g is like dialup. the best speed i have got with 3g was 3mbps . which was alright. lately its only been .5 to 1.5 mbps. which is still tolerable. yesterday and today its .2 mbps tops. it took an hour to download a 6 min youtube vid. I guess verizon just wants you to pay the bill . And keep paying higher prices to get speeds you use to get. as they slow it down.
@vester360 that why you use metropcs it have unlimited Limited Lte meaning only up to 10 mbps(still faster than 3g)... While verizon can peak up to 50 mbps
See what 4g can do..very impressive right.. and that's what SPRINT users are getting way back 2010 .. hope verizon can cope up to what SPRINT had been giving their customers...
Law in America do not allow the internet faster. This is the old 4G LTE in USA every think is slow rich country do not have some think the best wow USA rich and they out of a game they can not pierced someone like Korea and Japan No fast internet still dial up service in USA for4.99 or 9.99 come 56bps we talk 56mbps some cheap people want Korea and Japan Faster internet then Sweden and Finland USA far behind to others with technology with internet they have 5G in south Korea and Japan hehehe!
@ulli1235 first, that;s BS. Second, Germany is exactly HALF the size of Texas. Dont forget that the US has 50 states. European carriers are also more expensive with horrible data caps. I don't know about Germany, but in the UK vodaphone limits you to 1GB on the mosty expensive plan. I used 14GB of data in a month on my verizon LTE phone.
ALso, no mobile device can handle that kind of speed anyway. it will overheat and burn at 40mbps.
@solomonshv first dont forget that european carriers do not only operate in 1 country but all over the eu. second vodafone germany offers a 4g lte stick for laptops wich can handel 100 mbps. and for converted $100 u can get a 4 plan with a 30GB data cap
what ppl dont get is yeah is decent (not real fast) But u can do HD but for how much time, for 10GB is 80????? u can run out f that in a week doing just youtube, imagine doing HD Video conference??? in 2 days ur 10Gb are gone now what? ur gonna oay 10 for each additional day??? see it could be 100 mbps but with their capping is trash, worhtless. useless and etc etc. VERIZION WAS, IS AND WILL BE SHIT.
So since their 4G network is more capable their network can finally run voice and data side by side? if it cant then their network isn't really that advanced compared to t-mobile and all the other HSPA+ carriers around the world
Verizon Ur late,Sprint,Metro Pcs N T-mobile already have 4G N THEY DONT HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2013 TO TURN THE SWITCH ON, N ACCORDING TO THE RUMORS WERE ALL GONNA DIE IN 2012 SO U'LL DEFF B E REAL LATE
@lonelyboy323 Sprint has WiMax 4G which is a technology nobody else is using. They only use that so they could claim to be first with 4G. Metro PCS 4G coverage is really small. T-Mobile DOES NOT have 4G. That is an outright lie, T-Mobile has 3.5G.
Verizon may not have been first to the market with 4G but they are the first to give a good effort. They have a huge 4G network even at launch.
@austin1776 According to the ITU t-mobile sprint and verizon have official 4G according to their new standards. HSPA+ and regular LTE, WIMAX are now considered 4th gen networking
@homeboylx really ?? because last time i read, the requirement to be legitimately considered a 4G technology by the ITU, the network technology is required by the agency to be IP-based and use orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM). The other main requirement is that the technology needs to support peak download speeds of 100Mbps. Which neither of those have,
Yahoo had a great article on all these phone carriers 4G being a myth and its true. 4G is 100MB per second and Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile can only do 3-4MB per second.
@okcbrotha You're right, but it is also normal for the standards to be re-defined as has been done here based on the limitations of current technology. That said, do you want to be stuck with < 3Mbps until someone can truly do, say, 100Mbps? This is a first step (and a big one). Progress takes time. Enjoy that 4G in OKC, brotha. :)
I'm due for an upgrade from my BB Storm(ugh) but now that for 4G LTE is around the corner, I'm going to wait to buy a phone that supports the network's capabilities. Sorry, Droid X, I have to pass you by! :(
