Do you have anything to say about CBS, ABC, DNC (I mean NBC) running B-Roll of the same IED explosion hitting an American Hummer when reporting on violence in Iraq? I've seen this same piece of B-Roll used off and on for nearly four years now.

As a side comment: The DNC Nightly News and MSDNC have now become the hard-line partisan network liberals so badly want to cast Fox News as being. Only its worse. Olby next to Brokaw anchoring coverage? Yet, libs stay quiet about this bias

I agree that there isn't much here other than "running B-Roll" (though I did notice that an earlier clip in that same story of some scientists doing IVF was marked "file" and this clip was NOT marked "file"). I thought the open mic catching Brit Hume yelling was kind of funny, but I do not see this vid as showing any more bias at Fox than the general bias in the media towards laziness (and I do not include this video on my Fox News bias playlist)

fox news is incredibly messed up.... it's very disturbing, but i don't really think using an old clip is a huge problem. report on something that matters. it's not like they said "this happened today"

Fox is a source of information for many people, so they have a responsibility to provide currently accurate facts in visuals. Molly Henneberg, the correspondent on this story, is a fundamentalist conservative. She is a member of one of the Episcopal churches that chose to leave the American Episcopal Church due to simple homophobia in favor of a backward, misogynist, homophobic African Anglican dioses. I couldn't believe that she could be an objective journalist.

And Andrea Mitchell of NBC is married to Alan Greenspan? In my opinion, the footage does not bother me. If CNN was doing it, I still would not care. I think it is funny (much like the Fox newscaster was making it out to be), and it makes more of a mockery of Fox's professionalism than anything else, which I don't take seriously anyway, nor do I think it's that important in the Daily Show era. The reaction of the newscaster actually made me like them more (hate them less--whatever).

What does it matter if Scott McClellan is in the footage? There is no rule saying that footage of President Bush waving has to be recent footage. It is just filler footage anyway and somebody in the Fox News media desk screwed up.

some intern at fox news ran out of time trying to find some b-roll for the story and threw that in. their TD and line producer probably didn't even realize it till the guy said that. I don't agree with what your trying to present on this one. I work in media and this happens all the time. But I'm not giving the staff at Fox News any break. I may have put something in a recent vid description about it being the LATEST addition to my Fox News Bias playlist. I have about 18 items on that playlist. It even shows up about #8 if u do a google search for the phrase "fox news bias."

By the way, forget what I said about the vid coming up. I just realized one of the clips I needed got deleted from my TiVo :-(

Though generally I'm in agreement with most of what you've presented, I have to say this is a little sketchy. I don't think the focus is on Scott McClellan. Having some insight on television, I think it was an example of the TV (notice I didn't say "news show") using old coverage for a current story. I don't think there's much to be read into it other than an intern wasn't paying attention. I could be wrong.

"Playing loose and fast with facts" is the hallmark at Faux. But this is an awfully weak example of it.

TV news, not just Faux, pulls this kind of stunt all the time. It's cheaper than obtaining fresh footage, and viewers don't usually even notice.

I didn't think using this old footage was so noteworthy except it was also accompanied by Brit Hume caught yelling on an open mic. I didn't even add this vid to my "FOX NEWS BIAS" playlist because its a blooper more than bias. Laziness is a bias Fox shares with much of the rest of the media as u point out.
