I just flew from Elmira, NY - Philedelphia, PA - LAX round trip. Only once were we on time. So that means out of 4 flights 3 were delayed. Once because the pilot wasn't even there yet. I am not talking about minor delays. I am talking at least 1 hour. The staff were rude, The worst landings ever in my experience. The last flight nose dived to the point our butts were not touching the seat. Thank God for seat belts. I will never fly US Airways ever again!
I can now count myself among the U.S. Airways customers with customer service complaints. Late plane with noisy angry passengers. Plus we got mischarged for a $4.50 box of nuts and crackers, but on my credit card statement shows $6. Classy.

Ppl think hat flights are delayed just for the fun of it, without taking into consideration that people are working very hard on making the flight leave on time. Well safety is the number one priority. Trust that an airline gets nothing out of making people wait, and they obviously would never want to do such a thing because it has a direct effect on revenue. It wasn't that the delay was a plan against everyone to make them wait, it is to ensure safety in flight. When flying from the continental US to Hawaii, there are no alternates, it is straight ocean.......wouldn't you rather be sure that it was safe than to have anything compromised???????????
Entertaining video! I'm a frequent flyer on US Airways and have been fortunate to have pretty reliable flights for the most part. I would loose it if I was stuck on such a long delay!

@Papahboyaya wrong, US Airways and America West are now 1 integrated airline, US Airways uses parts of America West, such as their Callsign, "Cactus" and and the ICAO airline designator is AWE, which also was inherited with the merger. everything that the public sees now is US Airways, but America West is still a big part of the company, in fact it is one of the 4 Legacy Airlines that make up US Airways, including Piedmont, Allegheny, and PSA.
This is the main complaint this airline has received (i.e. delayed or canceled flights). I never flew it until fairly recently (Expedia's fault), and canceling my flight is exactly what they did. My trip was almost ruined because of this. Funny how you should mention Phoenix because I almost had to fly there b/c of the mess they made. It was pissed off. Fortunately, they had an earlier opening which got me to my destination on time and I did not have to stop in Phoenix thank god.

@av8or757 An American reporter once did a story on Aeroflot, the Russian carrier. He couldn't find a seatbelt that worked in his aisle! Then the passenger got on. The plane was full BUT they kept piling more people on. The people in the aisles reached up and grabbed straps, just like on a bus!! Be thankful that it never happens here. He estimated they packed 100 more passengers than the plane was designed to carry.
I'm a professional traveler and I have never experienced this before. This is a very rare situation. Understandably, it is undesirable, but this had to have happened for a legitimate reason.
US Airways should have done a better job of explaining the details of the delay to the passengers. This way, everyone would just leave the agents alone so they can finish their work uninterrupted. I know from experience because Im a ticket agent, not for US airways tho...On the other hand, when theirs a major delay, it isnʻt anyones fault, especially if it is mechanical. These guys over book every flight then just bump you at will.we were supposed to fly out at 5:30 we were in line at 4 am at about 4:45 the came out and said we missed our flight.while we were getting our tickets for the next flight the ticket agent told us they let people from a later flight get on this plane,bumping us off.All of the flights on the way back were over booked as well.

My last flight was with U.S. Airways. A delayed flight, lost luggage, and a rude flight attendant made this the worst flying experience ever. The 1st two were tolerable but a flight attendant yelling to a sleeping passenger, "did you not hear the 'Fasten Your Seatbelt' announcement?" was the breaking point.
im probably gonna get hell for this. However, I had a great flight with them. I flew with them from Honolulu to Columbus OH. In Honolulu, Aloha Contract services provided the ground services for US AIRWAYS. I flew frm HNL-PHX-CMH-PHX-HNL and it was a great flight. The flight attendants were great and checkin at Columbus and Phoenix were great. The only downside was the taxiwait we had leaving from Phoenix to Honolulu.
All you passangers would bitch if you got hung with a new rope. You can kiss our ass. You get what you pay for you wanted cheap tickets you got it. Now you have to live with SH-Ty service. You for get everyone at USAir took an average 40% pay cut so you could fly cheap. So, No I don't feel sorry for you. Take the bus.

The general public really needs to be educated on how airlines really work. There are hundreds of factors that make up a flight. For instance, if you take the last flight of the night, chances are it will be delayed because most likely that aircraft has been flying all day and if it's just 5 minutes delayed on one leg of the trip, it could cause major delays by the end of the day. You really see the world of aviation differently once you are behind the counter.

i get up AT 4 IN THE MORNING to catch a Continental flight 2 Houston but we get delayed so we switch to American (belss those kind folks) and the flight departs at noon so we wait for hours and have to be diverted to Dallas/Ft Worth cuz of bad weather in Houston so we get there at 2 o'clock and the flight to Mexico (which is where im goin)has at least 5 gate changes (plus we had a 2 hour layover or whatever the F u call it) then at about 5 p.m. the damn plane takes off....

But please tell me why my US AIRWAYS flight 576 was canceled today because of lack of aircraft and crew due to scheduling? There is a reason for everything but you would think they would be able to schedule flights better. US Airways has always had this issue with scheduling flights... just don't. And that's how they make their revenue.
there are many factors that lead to delays. For example: if it was mechanical and you were on the ground for 9 hours while they fixed it, I would say its way better than leaving on time only to crash 9 hours later due to mechanical problems. I have flown my whole life with US Airways and I have had my share of good and bad experiences and its the same thing with other airlines too. Lets put you in the driver's seat and see how fast you can screw up or delay others...

I stayed on the line for 2 hours then I hung up... I called back about an hour later and got through to a REAL person in 5 minutes, they rebooked me on Delta Airlines tonight, I get to Atlanta about an hour later than I was originally supposed to get there. I'm glad I'm not going to be flying US AIRWAYS tonight:-)

@Noodless121 Airplanes will always have issues at some point! Thats what maintainence is for. The important thing is that the airline never ignores the problem, which I assume they didn't. Besides which, airplanes are expensive and so they can't afford to replace the aircraft every time something goes wrong when they can just repair it. You wouldn't replace your car if it was worth repairing so why should airplanes be any different?
@mackat4ck the issue here isn't a problem with the plane...it's lack of communication between airline and staff and thus by extension when staff dont know what's going on it leaves passengers in the dark.
@adams8pjoy You can give people all the information there is about which part failed, why it failed, when it failed and what is being done to fix it, and they will still bitch and moan that they weren't given enough information.
@adams8pjoy I should also point out that a lot of people harass the gate agents and staff etc. A poor maintainance regime is the managers fault not the staff's fault. Most of the time the staff are trying so sort the problem out. One last thing; sometimes they don't tell passengers so as not to alarm them. If for example you tell them that a large crack was detected in the wing then they might think twice about traveling.
I don't understand the people that makes comments about how they hate passengers, blah blah blah...it's like they're missing the fundamentals of business - this video basically shows how a group of passengers were dissatisfied...this is a learning experience - a good company / employee / whatever - should be asking, what can I do to rectify this and keep it from happening again - I'm not flying US Airways again, but there are still customers the airline CAN save.

The airline obviously handled the delay properly by informing you every 15 minutes. Unless the plane cancels, they do not HAVE to put you on another airline.
Many people travel purchasing the lowest fares. The other airline has to accept the fare you paid to USairways for you to travel on them.
Most passengers cannot afford to travel to begin with and expect what no longer exists. It's a greyhound with wings, everyone has access now. Unfortunately delays happen for safety reasons.
I had a few problems last week when my flight from las vegas to philadelphia was delayed for about 9 hours and then binned. They put me up in a hotel and gave me meal vouchers. The real problems only started in Philadelphia when none of their staff could confirm what gate our flight to the UK was leaving from because it was on none of the departure screens. Once they got sick of answering the same questions they chose to ignore people instead, it was entertaining to say the least.

I travel from Madrid up to Philadelphia and then in another plane up to Phoenix, so much going and return with US Airways and it did not have any delay. My opinion of this trip was, that is an excellent airline

You know, all I can do when I watch this video and videos like this is chuckle. I mean people really have no idea of everything that you have to be aware of in the airline industry. I have been a flight attendant for several years now and I am also an Aviation Management student, so I am pretty well versed on the aviation industry. I understand that people are disappointed and maybe upset as well, but making statements like in this video isn't going to get the flight out any faster.
People who make videos like this really have no clue what goes on in an airline... There is more to it than just putting people on a plane and taking off. Anyone who works for an airline has had to deal with an ignorant passenger such as this guy. By the way... we just laugh at you when you walk away from the counter because you know what... People like you always have the same things to say. FYI Safety is #1 in all airlines. So delays happen whether it be due to weather, maintinance, crew rest, etc. You should be happy that there is so many steps and checks for your flight to take off.

Complaning wont help, shit happens. Just because you had a horrible experience doesnt represent the whole airline. Theres only a few people that can understand these situations, yes be frastrated, thats really normal but bitching on the airline wont help at all! Its like the airline wants this. If a delay happens, get over it, only if you people understoof the stress on the airports, airlines and the problems with some aircraft.

Americans should fly airlines in Africa or in South America, then they will appreciate the VERY unthankful job of being an airline employee in America. Better yet, people who make these video's should spend a day in the cockpit...in IFR flying conditions of course, dispatch flights in the SOCC. THEN I will be impressed with their solutions besides always making every thing into the WORST experience in their LIFE. I love the passengers,but americans. We're never happy unless we're bitchin'

@av8or757 An American reporter once did a story on Aeroflot, the Russian carrier. He couldn't find a seatbelt that worked in his aisle! Then the passenger got on. The plane was full BUT they kept piling more people on. The people in the aisles reached up and grabbed straps, just like on a bus!! Be thankful that it never happens here. He estimated they packed 100 more passengers than the plane was designed to carry.

US Airways should have done a better job of explaining the details of the delay to the passengers. This way, everyone would just leave the agents alone so they can finish their work uninterrupted. I know from experience because Im a ticket agent, not for US airways tho...On the other hand, when theirs a major delay, it isnʻt anyones fault, especially if it is mechanical. Only rough estimates of delay times can be given. This happens for ALL airlines. Arrive alive or not? Durr...

These guys over book every flight then just bump you at will.we were supposed to fly out at 5:30 we were in line at 4 am at about 4:45 the came out and said we missed our flight.while we were getting our tickets for the next flight the ticket agent told us they let people from a later flight get on this plane,bumping us off.All of the flights on the way back were over booked as well.

My last flight was with U.S. Airways. A delayed flight, lost luggage, and a rude flight attendant made this the worst flying experience ever. The 1st two were tolerable but a flight attendant yelling to a sleeping passenger, "did you not hear the 'Fasten Your Seatbelt' announcement?" was the breaking point.

im probably gonna get hell for this. However, I had a great flight with them. I flew with them from Honolulu to Columbus OH. In Honolulu, Aloha Contract services provided the ground services for US AIRWAYS. I flew frm HNL-PHX-CMH-PHX-HNL and it was a great flight. The flight attendants were great and checkin at Columbus and Phoenix were great. The only downside was the taxiwait we had leaving from Phoenix to Honolulu.

The general public really needs to be educated on how airlines really work. There are hundreds of factors that make up a flight. For instance, if you take the last flight of the night, chances are it will be delayed because most likely that aircraft has been flying all day and if it's just 5 minutes delayed on one leg of the trip, it could cause major delays by the end of the day. You really see the world of aviation differently once you are behind the counter.

i get up AT 4 IN THE MORNING to catch a Continental flight 2 Houston but we get delayed so we switch to American (belss those kind folks) and the flight departs at noon so we wait for hours and have to be diverted to Dallas/Ft Worth cuz of bad weather in Houston so we get there at 2 o'clock and the flight to Mexico (which is where im goin)has at least 5 gate changes (plus we had a 2 hour layover or whatever the F u call it) then at about 5 p.m. the damn plane takes off....

But please tell me why my US AIRWAYS flight 576 was canceled today because of lack of aircraft and crew due to scheduling? There is a reason for everything but you would think they would be able to schedule flights better. US Airways has always had this issue with scheduling flights... just don't. And that's how they make their revenue.

there are many factors that lead to delays. For example: if it was mechanical and you were on the ground for 9 hours while they fixed it, I would say its way better than leaving on time only to crash 9 hours later due to mechanical problems. I have flown my whole life with US Airways and I have had my share of good and bad experiences and its the same thing with other airlines too. Lets put you in the driver's seat and see how fast you can screw up or delay others...

I stayed on the line for 2 hours then I hung up... I called back about an hour later and got through to a REAL person in 5 minutes, they rebooked me on Delta Airlines tonight, I get to Atlanta about an hour later than I was originally supposed to get there. I'm glad I'm not going to be flying US AIRWAYS tonight:-)

@Noodless121 Airplanes will always have issues at some point! Thats what maintainence is for. The important thing is that the airline never ignores the problem, which I assume they didn't. Besides which, airplanes are expensive and so they can't afford to replace the aircraft every time something goes wrong when they can just repair it. You wouldn't replace your car if it was worth repairing so why should airplanes be any different?

@adams8pjoy I should also point out that a lot of people harass the gate agents and staff etc. A poor maintainance regime is the managers fault not the staff's fault. Most of the time the staff are trying so sort the problem out. One last thing; sometimes they don't tell passengers so as not to alarm them. If for example you tell them that a large crack was detected in the wing then they might think twice about traveling.

I don't understand the people that makes comments about how they hate passengers, blah blah blah...it's like they're missing the fundamentals of business - this video basically shows how a group of passengers were dissatisfied...this is a learning experience - a good company / employee / whatever - should be asking, what can I do to rectify this and keep it from happening again - I'm not flying US Airways again, but there are still customers the airline CAN save.

The airline obviously handled the delay properly by informing you every 15 minutes. Unless the plane cancels, they do not HAVE to put you on another airline.
Many people travel purchasing the lowest fares. The other airline has to accept the fare you paid to USairways for you to travel on them.
Most passengers cannot afford to travel to begin with and expect what no longer exists. It's a greyhound with wings, everyone has access now. Unfortunately delays happen for safety reasons.

I had a few problems last week when my flight from las vegas to philadelphia was delayed for about 9 hours and then binned. They put me up in a hotel and gave me meal vouchers. The real problems only started in Philadelphia when none of their staff could confirm what gate our flight to the UK was leaving from because it was on none of the departure screens. Once they got sick of answering the same questions they chose to ignore people instead, it was entertaining to say the least.

I travel from Madrid up to Philadelphia and then in another plane up to Phoenix, so much going and return with US Airways and it did not have any delay. My opinion of this trip was, that is an excellent airline

Never fly USAir Problems not-weather-related forced an unscheduled stop in Denver 12 and ½ hours inside this airplane !! You know, all I can do when I watch this video and videos like this is chuckle. I mean people really have no idea of everything that you have to be aware of in the airline industry. I have been a flight attendant for several years now and I am also an Aviation Management student, so I am pretty well versed on the aviation industry. I understand that people are disappointed and maybe upset as well, but making statements like in this video isn't going to get the flight out any faster.
