As far as NAMBLA goes I pretty much agree that it needs to be protected. Talking about cutting off peoples heads is fine and dandy but you should go to jail forever if you actually cut off someone else's head. Well, since it becomes a legal matter if someone's rights are violated... the government gets to decide. Are the decisions of the legislature on such things always correct? No... but does that matter? Everyone ages differently, but in the end we have to use some sort of metric to decide who can drive, drink, have sex, vote, etc.... age is convenient and more or less does the job.

If someone is considered to have a mental understanding to know that the consequences of some bad thing they did, they have the mental capacity to know the consequences of sex. It's a pretty straight forward concept, and gets rid of the hypocrisy of it.

If you are a fan of South Park you would realize that SP does not lampoon issues and/or situations that are fictitious. They take relevant social issues and bring them to light through absurd comedy.

On the Daily Show episode from Thursday, August 15th, Stewart does a segment which brilliantly exposes the conservative position of taxing the poor instead of the rich, highlighting the absurd media arguments (mostly from Fox) which support it. It was an illuminating segment, and I think if it had more exposure (such as youtube), it might get people to think logically about the situation.

Well, since it becomes a legal matter if someone's rights are violated... the government gets to decide. Are the decisions of the legislature on such things always correct? No... but does that matter? Everyone ages differently, but in the end we have to use some sort of metric to decide who can drive, drink, have sex, vote, etc.... age is convenient and more or less does the job.
