  • To those of you who say that engine is a POS you are wrong. The entire vehicle is a pile. Everyone I've met who has one is replacing undercar/suspension parts at very low mileages. I'm ashamed to say that my family owns one of these turds.

  • @lilseabass oh sorry to hear it did not work out for you. well mine lasted to 160k then i traded it for a black GT mustang. That stratus was prettty good to me. the engine was always worked over 6krpm so things were kept moving from building sludge overall tons of oil changes tranny flush tune up new tires it was a pretty damn good car to me... sry bout your bad luck with them

  • That engine is a piece of shit but it has been proven that it last long when mostly used for highway driving

  • 2.7 has a major flaw on sludge. crappiest engine they make.

  • Dont u know how to drive

  • i would run 15w40 diesel oil

  • @mkubiak67 Yeah Shell Rotella damn good oil and it has some of the best detergents to keep an engine clean. Hell, if it is good for a tractor then why not a car.. Good post

  • @1998disco72 I use Shell Rotella oil in my cars. one of the diesel requirements is like CJ-4 2 or 3 like SM,SL,SJ

  • The water pump is on the INSIDE of the motor on a 2.7 - It also doubles as an idler pulley for the timing chain assembly. When the water pump eventually starts to fail, it leaks WATER into the OIL. emulsifying it. Each week when the engine is COLD check under the oil filler cap; if there's condensation, or grey oil under the cap, you have a problem. Drain & fill the cooling system ONLY and make SURE you add a cooling system conditioner. Use synthetic oil with this engine...

  • Must have used synthedic oil .

  • Its a great motor if maintained, but it just sux that there isnt much of a warning when the internal waterpump failes and coolant mixes with the oil and wipes out the rod bearings

  • I have a 2001 Sebring with this engine... have 220000+Km on it, and still running great. Not burning any real oil, sounds solid. :D hope it lasts for a long time more, and it should as long as I keep it maintained.

  • biggest piece of shits on the road

  • @iizRoCkrzii34 uhh huh well... Not Mine had it up to 110 last weekend and i got bout 160Thousand miles on it and it runs fine. see the other videos on the right here those are pos but not mine

  • @Mustangmike232 it will die soon.

  • @Mustangmike232 160 thousand miles is still new , lol try 207k miles then talk

  • @iizRoCkrzii34 yes the are

  • @stratct haha mine is on its 3rd engine after this one its going up in flames :)

  • @iizRoCkrzii34 Not really I have a couple of friends that have owned them they are pretty reliable and parts are cheap and the vehicle is easy to repair.

  • Not to bad. My 2000 intrepid has a 2.7 with about 165k miles on it. Still runs good, oil light is starting to flicker and it smokes from time to time...im sure it will last until 200,000 tho :)

  • thts cool. ohh the oil pressure light comes on, yeaa mine used to do that. upgrade to 10W 40 and use Lucas oil stabilizer. makes the oil circulate excellent and slows leaks and helps high mileage oil pumps work better. my light doesn't come on anymore ever since

  • @Mustangmike232 i had one guy on fordraptor forum tell me that putting a thicker oil in my raptor wont fix an oil light problem. but i switched from 5w20 and put 10w30 and havent had a problem. they lie like persian rugs.

  • @Mustangmike232 but you dont have a high mileage car!
