There's no reason to hate on either The Cure, The Smiths or Wild Nothing. I agree that there's similarities amongst the band, but let's face it: They are all great in their respective way, and the fact that Wild Nothing is a one man band gives nothing but credit to guy. Stopping hating and enjoy the wonderful music you guys :-)
Why are most indie music fans such pretentious snobs? Just enjoy this for what it is, good. No one elected you art-house hero. Fascist music listener: stop trying so hard to be different or you'll end up like everyone else.
The Smiths are my favorite band. If the Smiths had any hand in influencing this song, then kudos to them. Its not a blatant rip-off, its a beautiful intertwining of many musical stylings to make something that speaks to young people.
According to gung-ho Smiths fans, if you like the smiths and are influenced by them then you are not allowed to make music. EVER. The Smiths should, apparently, been the last band ever formed and dissolved.

@FewPoint never liked the smiths... furthermore Morrisey's vocals sound nothing like these vocals. Morrissey's vocals were more out in the open and vivacious while these are subdued and drowned under great melodies though at the same time manage to compliment them exceptionally. I would say if Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine boned Miki Berenyi of Lush their child would make music like this. EPIC stuff. This is honestly the most solid album I've heard in a long time.
