Every once in a while a paper will print a story on it if someone is permanently injured. But for the most part, protesters are hit, dragged, pepper-sprayed, shot with wooden or rubber bullets, and of course arrested as a matter of course during any act of civil protest - even with necessary permits and with no laws being broken. Happens right here, in the land of the free.

Peaceful protesting has always been a method for the people to demonstrate they have a grievance. The police crossed the line. There are many more such videos showing police are the ones engaging in unnecessary violence, and therefore drawing first blood.
The police are not the enemy. Bad politics is the enemy, and if these police are following orders, they are being given bad orders.
No good will come from these tactics.

You can clearly see at the minute mark that these idiots started hitting the officer who was forming a barracade from the person who was standing in traffic. When this group slows down the progression of everyday life in traffic and wishes to disassemble the economy as a whole, that is where they have issues. This was an okay protest until they disrupted the flow of traffic, which I'm SURE was the reason the police asked them to stop doing. When you don't listen to the cops, they have no choice.

Every once in a while a paper will print a story on it if someone is permanently injured. But for the most part, protesters are hit, dragged, pepper-sprayed, shot with wooden or rubber bullets, and of course arrested as a matter of course during any act of civil protest - even with necessary permits and with no laws being broken. Happens right here, in the land of the free.

Not all NYPD are cowards. In this situation, it wasn't just police over reacting, there were protestants fighting them too. I'm not saying that guy did, but some have. Also, there were still a lot of police officers that did not react that way, they were just doing their job. But there were a few that were, in my opinion, abusing their authory in this whole protest and did foolish things that, to their dismay, were recorded. I wish this country would just compromise again and actually be honest

Police were arresting people, and they saw the crowd starting to get restless. That's usually a precursor to a riot and/or reactionary violence. They fenced some people off, and those who got in the cops' faces while they were kettling them got sprayed. Hell, in the background you can *see* a guy scuffle with police at around 0:39.
These are just hipsters trying to rebel against... well, they don't know what their agenda is. Just watch what happens to *real* rebels in other countries.

If you actually pay attention there are fights going on in the background as well as a police line set, which it is illegal to cross and repeatedly knock down like the majority of those protesters are doing. The use of pepper spray to control situations is quite common and regulation. The cops did nothing wrong here. And I am unemployed and I have also been pepper sprayed. I see nothing wrong with what the cops did. You can also not see the whole situation by videos you have to be there.
