For sure the Catholic Priests borrowed from the Mithras Cult. But from John 6:55 Y'shua says; For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. Then in 6:63 he adds; It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak to you, they are the spirit, and they are life". So we are to eat and ingest his words as the manna from Heaven. Not some hocu pocus bread that has been changed into Jesus by a priest.

Eating the flesh of and drinking the blood of someone reminds me of vampire movies where this very same ritual is practiced. Plus, vampires can "enter" only if you ask them or invited them to. So, therefore, asking Jesus into your heart (home) is like asking a vampire to enter your home?? Also, just a couple months ago, I spotted a Masonic building in town called the Elk's Lodge. I pulled over to go check it out, and on the front door, it said, "IESOUS" only enter."

@petshaw2009 I'm disappointed, Shannon that you would go so far as to atrribute Jesus to Mithraism. Paul, yes, but Jesus? I'm also bewildered as to why you took John 6: 53-56 out of context. OF COURSE, you cannot eat his flesh and drink his blood, not to mention that drinking blood is prohibited in the law of Moses (Leviticus 3:17). Would Jesus teach against the law of Moses?

Anyways, my rebuttal to this video is John 6:63. The flesh profiteth NOTHING, His words are SPIRIT and they are life!

@lillibeth13 I didn't attribute Jesus to Mithraism. He did - when he performed the ancient initiation ritual of the "blood of the vine" that was even ancient during his time which was also symbolical for most and not literal. However, the symbolism or literal - it means consumption of the blood and flesh of a sacrificed diety which had been going on for thousands of years prior.

Honestly, I don't know what Moses would say of symbolically consuming blood. Probably nothing good.
