  • I start to watch his movie back in 60 to 70s' he is great as Denzel to me, I wish he lives well and gets long life.

  • I like this short clip! It's cool, genuine. Mr. Portier is so authentic, good-mannerly and not looking down on the guy.

Also, I don't see the problem in adressing him with "Hey man!" - obviously Mr. Portier doesn't have a problem with that - so, why should YOU?

    Stay cool! :o)

  • Why did he tell the guy not to question him about obama?

  • @cmnesnah

Because, I guess, he has been asked too often already at that time AND it should be too obvious ALSO what he'd say...

("Don't question me about Obama." meaning "Hey, dude, do I look like I'd vote for McCain?")

With his response he makes you THINK! ;o)

  • Search "Obama Deception Full Movie" here on YouTube & watch it.

Then make your decision about the individual in our White House.

  • WOW, He was wrong about Obama wasn't he!!! OOPS

  • "hey man"? very rude, "hey man," to Mr. Poitier? WHAT?

as my mother would say, "raised by goats."

  • Still don't believe in the New World Order & illuminati? Search for THE MUSIC INDUSTRY EXPOSED part 1 (FarhanK501)

  • I don't think the camera man meant any disrespect towards Sidney Poitier. He sounded like he was saying "hey man" in a friendly, harmless manner. Believe it or not, that's how many people greet each other these days.

And am I the only one who finds it hilarious to see Sidney Poitier going to a grocery store? Can you imagine the reaction of the staff, when the look up and see one of the biggest names in Hollywood history strolling through their store?

  • @MisterFezMartin : Im not to sure many ppl, well myself at the very least, would recognise him as an older gentlemen. He is a remarkable individual.

  • @MisterFezMartin Aynota is absolutely right. The camera man was totally disrespectful to say "Hey man," rather than "Mr. Poitier, a moment please?" Sidney's reaction of disgust proves it. At first he ignores the fool, then when he comes out of the grocery store, reprimands the rude questioner. "Don't ask me about Obama, what do you think about Obama?" he rightly replies.

  • "hey man"

    "that's good"

wtf, show some respect. learn how to talk to an adult like an adult.

  • @deelite19 Right on. I couldn't believe that they said "hey man." Some of these paparazzi are the biggest douchbags; not only stupid, but disrespectful as well.

  • Sydney Poitier is one classy Gentleman....RESPECT.

  • yeah first black president great.

i'm waiting for the first black female president.

theres a trip i'll not only pay for i'll enjoy.

  • @1nakey1 And lesbian ..now that would be something to see huh

  • @1nakey1 black female president? nobody wants to see a female president FULL STOP LOL.

  • Media focuses on race because deep down inside we still do. we still base every little thing on it from buying food to watching tv. we always blame stuff on race

  • Its really indicative though of American Media to focus on race....

  • Mr Poitier is such a great speaker...his voice just radiates elequence

  • hAHHHHHHHHHH,i WAS JUST GOING TO SAY hOW DARE YOU FUCKNG PUNK CALL HIM HEY MAN,WHAT A FKNG TRASH.THIS SHIT HEAD WILL NEVER LEARN.........

  • C'mon HollywoodTV, Sideny Poitier is 85 years old

Why don't you hunt down the spoiled rich, pretty little douchebags crawling around Hollywood

  • nuestro mayor cariño para el grande Sidney Poitier. Desde Buenos Aires, de Observatorioia

  • 0:10, How DARE HE SAY "HEY MAN" TO SIDNEY PORTIER! More respect has been given to britney spears and paris hilton

  • Yes thankyou whoever you are for noticing that lack of respect to such a respectable man.You don't run up to a older person -a wiser person,a person who has broken racial boundaries ect.-like that and in such a punkish fashion, ask''hey man what do you think of obama''?for a person to run up to a person like that with prior knowledge of who the person is ,and to act like that makes them stupid.

  • @aynota I don't think Jesus would care if someone said "Hey, man" to be so concerned with titles is a sign of ego, my friend. That being said, I would've given far less consideration to either of those whores you mentioned

  • DAMN i hate it when people like that get followed around like that

  • That is my guy! Sidney Poitier rules!!!!!

  • Such a classy man....

  • yes ur right

  • You got that right...or how he feels about Obama being friends Hugo Chavez; or voting to continue partial birth abortion; or supporting gay marriage......should I go on?

  • Seems a bit tacky, the way the reporter just approached him, a gentleman in his retirement,

but damned if Sir isn't classy as fuck.

  • i just watched sneakers, he is great in that movie.

  • wow some exclusive , the great Sidney Poitier has to deal with some annoying douche bag with a camcorder while he goes to the grocery store. please let the man buy some milk. you swear the man is in the frame of mind to answer question about the election how rude is this

  • I Agree! Leave them alone!

  • I agree. It must be irriating being the first African American (no his carribean!) to break through as a star, to be questioned on every aspect of advancement on race relations in America! Poitier is a cool guy though.

  • How do you know Sidney Poitier's buying milk?

  • to sir with love..................

  • For your information Sir Sidney Poitier is Bahamian Born not American....He's from The Bahamas...and yes he's truly a remarkable man

  • FYI Mr. Poitier IS American born, he was born in Miami Fla. By Poitier's own account, he was born in Miami, Florida but spent his childhood in Cat Island, Bahamas and later moved back to the United States in 1943 at age 15.

  • Sidney Poitier is the greatest....for your information Sir Sidney Poitier is a BAHAMIAN NOT AMERICAN BORN!!!!

  • The way this guy carries himself is an example of how to behave. A remarkable man.

  • Smooth, classy and sadly misinformed....

  • I think Poitier should have run for prez! He is one of the greatest Americans and greatest patriots our country has ever had! He would make a wonderful president!

  • Absolutely right. Sidney Poitier is one of the most honourable examples of America.

:D God bless him. God Bless USA.

  • yeah, I work everyday with his niece. She's cool too!

  • Jesus -- you were seriously honored to be spoken to by Mr. Poitier.

  • Dude, Poiter is cool! I seen him for the first time on a movie channel we get up here in Canada just the other day I'm only 19) in this movie called To Sir, With Love...and he was so slick! What a cool guy!

  • he's a rump ranger

  • Sidney Poitier is such a special one-of-a-kind individual. He's the embodiment of class, intelligence and intellect. Nothing more needs to be said.

  • And it all comes together to form a coolness time cannot change.

  • @ezekielthemack

    Exactly.

  • What a couteous, classy man - so poised and articulate. So talented and courageous. I'm not surprised at all they asked him about Obama - he must be so thrilled!!

  • Still smooth, even now!

  • at least poitier wants to keep his opinions to himself, and not rally like a lunatic, and for that i respect him

  • What a man!

  • Gosh he rocks :-D

  • mac616-Why are you displaying so much hostility? What did blacks to do you that deserves your hatred? We are all humans and we have individual thoughts. The color of your skin does not dictate your behavior. Judge people based on their actions not a color

  • of all the question to ask he asks a obama question. dickhead

  • I love him.
