reply to breaku45- you should start off with a wood board or a zap lazer and skim across the beach horizontally. Once you've got the hang of tht, get a fiberglass and skim out towards the waves.

I suggest a Zap Pro. They're pretty durable, and semi cheap. This board will take you from sliding on the beach horizontally to sliding out to waves. If you're in the clearwater/Tampa area, I have a board that you'd be interested in. I can give you a good deal on it too.

It's ok. You're better off driving to the inlet though. Wet sand slide as much as possible but sometimes you can't.
