  • whos this pictures?

  • Needs more cannon.

  • Needs more Cowbell. Other then that love it grados 80i

  • Some people need to lighten up you sissy babbling wuss pots.

Here's what I read: "WAAAAHHHH! you said something I disagree with, let me insult you while you can't see me."

And then the audiophiles are going "Waaaaaaahhhhh, I'm a better audiophile than you!" If you don't like it, go out, buy the disc, stick it in and listen to it at home. Also remember to tell yourself that you ARE the best and will fight everyone who will try to take that from you.

  • @connybbad ROFLOL

    WELL SAID!

  • @connybbad Hear Hear Old Chap!

  • 1 person stood in front of he cannon. RIP

  • Didn't shock me the first time. I feel so boring. : (

  • @redhootie123 Awwwwwwwwwwww, you shouldn't take it so personally! :-)

  • @7thMarch1987 lol jk

  • Oh dear... As a Tchaikovsky fan and a Brit who has lived for some time in the States, it gets really old to hear the "British is better than the American" thing over and over (and over).

Its been known for a while now that American products are pretty good... I'm sure you have plenty of them around you as you read this. :)

Which speakers do you use? Just curious, because my old computer speakers are on the fritz and I want something nice... I hear Bose is quite decent...

  • absolutely perfect, amazing quality, best version of this piece i've heard yet, great job. in other versions the church bells were too loud and overwhelmed the other instruments or the videos were laggy and skipped. all in all great work, i'm favoriteing and thumbs uping this right now.

  • @Masotta313 Well, thank you very much.

This is a TELARC CD, and one can seldom make a mistake with one of them. They are world renowned for the care they take in recording their music. Go to their website and have a look at what they have been doing over the years. I got to know TELARC when I was working in High End Audio back in the 1980's. I remember the struggle we had trying to get the turntable/arm/cartridge combination to cruise the cannons without playing hop-scotch all over the vinyl.

  • thanks a lot for your effort to accomplish such a great video with excellent audio and share with us

  • @twatlolita Thank you. I appreciate your appreciation. LOL

  • Favorite part is 13:27

    By far

  • Those cannons totally caught me off guard. Scared the living daylights out of me, they did!

  • @xeonfuze You are not alone. The first time I heard this Telarc edition, I was warned about the cannons, nonetheless, I was shocked out of my chair when they finally did come. It was like watching an Alfred Hitchcock movie. I wish they hadn't warned me. I might not have been sitting on the edge of my chair so badly. (^_^)

  • Thank you so much for posting this. My very first CD was the Telarc Sample CD with this on it back in day...and I still have it! The PERFECT 4th of July Fireworks song! Semper Fi!

  • Not for audiophiles unless this is made with lossless audio. All this is is a 720p picture displaying low-quality MP3s.

  • @Shrieken213 I appreciate your comment, however vague it might be.

Seeing as LossLess uses COMPRESSION (I'm sure you MUST know what THAT means) - what software would YOU recommend to combat the LOSS that happens with compression? If you want to make such a sweeping statement on a video made with audiophiles in mind, how would you like to enlighten us with a decent explanation. We do have a habit of listening to rude people like yourself, even if you don't know what you are talking about!

  • @7thMarch1987 There IS NO LOSS in certain types of compression. Hence lossless formats are possible.

For example, if you compress a 1000-word document into a ZIP, RAR or 7z file, and you uncompress it, do you lose any data? Will any part of that document be changed?

  • @7thMarch1987 Not only that, YouTube itself degrades the audio quality as it re-compressese the video and optimizes it for the web.

  • @Shrieken213

I understand all that. I have, in my years as an audiophile, learned that even using different software to make a video can change the sound of the music. Audiophiles listen with their ears. If our ears pronounce it good, we don't care how it got to be good, even though some of us do study this stuff. However, in this digital era, I find lossless a waste of time. Frequencies almost across the board seem to go flat, but those top ends, they just disappear. Bring back good old vinyl!

  • @7thMarch1987 Lossless captures the nuances of vinyl. It is the digitization of vinyl, the closest you can get to real LPs. It does not have a frequency (it does but it's too high to be practical). Bit count also affects sound

Good ears can hear the difference between 24- and 16-bit FLAC. Decent ears can hear the difference between 320Kbps MP3 and 16-bit FLAC. I appreciate what you're trying to do, but no matter how you try you will never be able to truly upload quality music because of YouTube.

  • @7thMarch1987 I got the FLAC copies of this album. Compared to the FLAC, this video has distorted cannons...like extremely distorted. The rest is fine, though.

  • @Shrieken213 Excuse me, Sir, cannons are SUPPOSED to be distorted. TELARC never CLAIMED that they were not distorted as cannons should be.

Now if FLAC has undistorted them, you have a PROBLEM! Period!

Sheeeeeeeesh, I thought I was a fer-nicketty audiophile. You need to get some distortion into your cannons, like there SHOULD be, or else you might start getting, what in the business is known as, "listener's fatigue", and that is a really bad phenomenon to suffer from.

  • @7thMarch1987 So what you're saying is that they *should* be distorted?

Hmm...something wrong with that comment, don't you think?

FLAC copies show the cannons to have a short, clean blast. This video makes them sound like the are like the intro to Inception.

  • @7thMarch1987 Alright, I'm uploading the FLAC-converted-to-AIFF copies now.

  • I bought a pair of speakers years ago, and made my decision on how they handled the cannons on this Telarc disc. I could find only one that reproduced the cannons without distress or distortion at high volumes, they were Boston Acoustics A150's.

  • @wojack1000 That's an interesting story. (^_^)

I'm not sure you used the best disc to choose your speakers. The cannons do distort naturally. It's how the speakers manifest that distortion that should be your lead. If you heard NO distortion, you might find yourself losing audio on other CDs too. Boston Accoustics are great speakers, but they are American speakers (sorry about that...LOL). I prefer British speakers. Having said that, your front-end (CD player/amps) should have more attention.

  • there is a glitch around 11:13... NOT AUDIOPHILE ENOUGH!!!

    lol jk amazing job

  • @MKUMBRA LOL, you had me going there for a minute. (^_~)

Glad you liked this video. Most of my videos on my channels are now in HD 720p. I seldom use Windows Movie Maker anymore. You take care now.

  • Playing this on my Sennheiser HD650's right now. Sounds incredible! Thanks a lot for uploading this. =D

  • @kiwikat Hey (^_^)

Those are mean headphones. We used them when I was doing radio work in Namibia. I use Bose QC2 Headphones myself. I hope you remembered to turn that sound down when the cannons came on. The sound of them hurt my jaw through headphones. Who would have thought my jaw would get smacked. LOL

    Take care.

  • Now that I'm taking AP European History, this is the sound track to my study sessions

  • @Starkiller1701 Well, I am glad you like it. If you have the equipment, play it on HD with 720p. Happy studying! (^_^)

  • @7thMarch1987 Thanks. Not really equipped for 720p at the moment. But if i pass these exams, i just might be rewarded with somthing.

  • @Starkiller1701 Well, good luck to you and I hope your reward will enable you to go to a GOOD audio store where they have decent sound rooms so that you can listen to what you are buying before you buy it. There is no other decent way to do this. Also, once there, take your time. (^_^)

  • @7thMarch1987 Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

  • @Starkiller1701 Any time. It is my pleasure to advise.

  • needs chorus :(

  • @hannibalbrown

I do have the other TELARC version of this overture WITH chorus. There are two choirs in that video. Please go to - watch?v=uYnCCWsfx3c

    Thank you. (^_^)

  • @7thMarch1987 Thank you sir most appreciated

  • @hannibalbrown It is my pleasure, Sir. By the way, I am a Ma'am. (^_~)

  • @7thMarch1987 My apologies

  • I have begun work on the other version of this piece "Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture with Erich Kunzel conducting the, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra (Multichannel Hybrid SACD) [Hybrid SACD - DSD]", for those who requested it.

I will use 720p and HD as I did here. I will notify all who requested it upon completion. This version, also put out by TELARC, incorporated two choirs who do the major part of the harmony. The choirs are, "The Kiev Symphony Chorus", and the "Children's Choir of Greater Cincinnati".

  • yes much better

  • @delameu Thank you for all the help and encouragement you gave me. I really appreciated your time. (^_^)

  • Here is the requested HD (720p) video of Tchailovsky's 1812 Overture, Op. 49. I have sent it out to all those who requested it. I hope you enjoy what I have accomplished here. I am staggered at the improvement in the audio, compared to the first one I made. I re-imported the CD to my computer in order to get rid of the strange "blips" that were in the audio track of that video. I apologise for that oversight. Please enjoy what I have put up for you all.

My love to all through Christ.

    Afrikitty.
