  • @BreathinHiphop89 one thing to consider, Lyle rides horses, & motorcycles, messes around on his REAL ranch & has a body thats lean, strong & tight as steel.

That might be one sensual attraction. Add that he knows how to be romantic & has his own measure of success including millions of fans & dollars.

  • When on elives on God's Own Country, one tends to have problems only with Pommie Bastids. What other state makes a decent tattoo? Kansas?

  • Amazing!

  • I used live in Flowermound, Dallas, TX. It's this really little town near Denton. I remember we had to drive a full hour just to get to Costco. Good times, good times. I can tell by the way someone wears their hat or their boots, if they're Texan or not.

  • AMEN bc78260!! There's nothing out there like it anywhere.

  • Lyle and his band are always a world class show! ....I've been to Texas!!

  • texas dosnt want you

  • Great song written by Alison Rogers Ramsey, Willis Alan Ramsey, & Lyle Lovett. Somewhat different then what we are accustomed to from Willis. But his (Willis) new album Gentilly is going to really make up for all the time you may have waited for his 2nd album.

  • I meant, I watched him this past Monday.

  • Watched him live last week. Wow!! I LOVE his style, his beautiful voice, and his classy band - everyone was spectacular! No surprise his show sold out. In person, he is actually quite endearing. Did you know, he is not so quiet, shy and reserved? Lyle has an adorable sense of humor, never would of guessed or known that. He is also so genuine. Ah.... Oh yeah, love this song, because I"m not from TX.

  • Texas wants you anyway!

  • isn't the guy playin the fiddle in george strait's band?

  • @armymen12002003 Yep! I think it's Gene Elders - one of the best!

  • my son (and parents) had dinner w/ them about a month ago.

  • buick reid is my cuz

  • Love that Western Swing music and Lyle!

  • Allan Willis Ramsey co-wrote this song with Lovett.

  • Willis Alan Ramsey wrote this song with his wife, Allison Rogers, for Lyle.

  • The second verse is a tribute to the members of Uncle Walt's Band, a band actually from South Carolina who later became associated with the Austin, Texas country music scene. "Those boys from Carolina They sure enough could sing But when they came on down to Texas We all showed them how to swing Now David's on the radio And old Champ's still on the guitar And Uncle Walt he's home with Heidi Hiding in her loving arms" Lovett was a huge fan of Uncle Walt's Band as a college student

  • He was on Jools Holland tonight. He sang Bohemia from his new album. Brilliant song!

  • He was live on BBC Radio 5Live this afternoon, he didn't sing this but he did sing some great new songs on air.

  • Want to record Transplant Texan...? Let me know. It would be perfect for you, Lyle. It is posted on the video response.

It was written and performed by Paul Johnson in Rockwall, Texas. We love your music.

  • there is no place on the earth that creates more great artists...God Bless Texas!! thank you.

  • Except for Nashville Tenesee

  • Nashville is a foul pit that has entirely ruined country.

  • It's pretty hard to ruin a genre that was pretty bad to begin with. With it's exceptions of course, and no offense meant

  • B.S., Louisiana has a higher density of musicians.

All the people on Specialty Records, Louisiana Hayride, Zydeco, Brass Bands, Buddy Guy, etc. We are 6 million people, thats like the city Houston and Corpus Cristi producing all those artists.

  • That's why I want to live RIGHT on the Louisiana/Texas border. That way I got the best of both and no Nashville worries.

  • Nashville is in Tennessee.

  • Hence why I ain't living there and being a musician.

  • Houston alone has like over 5 million people and corpus only 300,000

  • Wow. Bit population split, huh?

  • God bless the great Lone Star State!!!

  • OMG, I want to kareoke the shit out this song...

  • lyle lovett is awsome lol

  • cactus cuties sings this awesomeee

  • Now that would be a concert!

  • I saw that tour, it was amazing! But he's even better with the Large Band. I've seen them like 4 or 5 times (and I'm 19). Oh, and it's Ely.

  • I've seen Lyle numerous times--(I lost count at 8)

He is always supported by top-notch musicians.

Do yourself a favor...and go see him next time he's in your area. You won't regret it.

  • wow! I thought 4 was a lot. lol

  • This was my first favorite song when I was little that wasn't something along the lines of the itsy bitsy spider or anything.

I think I played the tape in our old caprice over 100x.

  • Lyle is the best songwriter alive right now. Period, full stop, no question.

  • Bob Dylan.

  • I love Dylan, don't get me wrong. Lyrically he is the best, but musically no one holds a candle to Lyle.

  • McCartney is cack,John Lennon wrote Imagine and he wrote the frog chorus and spies like us and you still think he walks on water!Pontiac is one of the greatest album's ever!Hope your attitude isn't contagious, the Beatles are so overrated!!!!

  • All the Beatles were shit, some shitter than others!

I am a Damned fan and proud of it!And no my name doesn't refer to the size of my arse,it's an anagram of Rock Hudson who was another gay american like you!!!!

  • I lived in Houston for years, and vacation when I can. We've got a sayin' "You can always tell a Texas, but you can't tell him much!"

  • you say that like it's a bad thing

  • I'm moving back to Texas in 7 days...there is no place like it on earth and I can't wait to get back!

  • yep ... that's right.

  • Saw Lyle playing at The Backyard in Austin, TX on a rainy day about 8 years ago. It was so wet they worried for the safety of the musicians, but he came out and played acoustically for about an hour to a very attentive crowd, and came back the next Monday for a full on 2 hour show. He's as classy as they get. He did "Texas" acoustically, and brought down the house.
