Hey buddy, I will be trying this recipe for my first time ever making jam, I review some videos in youtube and looks to me like this one of yours is the best explain, i will let you know what happen.
I have 3 Mulberry trees and have never made jam so next year I will be ready. I will practice with store fruit or market fruit. I have not made any videos so maybe these will be my first ones. There are about 6 wild Mulberry trees along the road across the street so man I will be ready next year.
What a great simple video to follow, I followed this through my scratchy notes i made and it worked perfectly, I am a jam maker myself but never made such a small amount (I make gifts) The only thing i would add is make sure everyone sterilizes their jars if using glass and i always add my lid even when piping hot reduce air. And make sure the sugar is dissolved, it has got to be dissolved before potting! Yum yum and thank you.
thanks for the tips, I never really jared much jam ro jelly, I usually make small quantities just for the house, reason beign is I only use fresh wild picked berries and I just cant get all that many of them...
What is the substance that you mixed in 3:44 after the water?Did you add sugar in 8:21? Also what is the fruit that you showed in 6:22?Sorry cause my audio is not working.
lol the 1st batch turned into blueberry candy as I overcooked the sugar...to amke candy liek caramel or soft and hard candies you ened a heat thermometer as heat is critical between stages...
yeasterday i tried to make some sort of drink out of black berrys, i picked about 3 cups of fat jucy blackberrys, then put them in a soucepan, then added 1/4 of water, then mashed them up, then boild them for 2 mins, then got the pulp out with a sive, then boild again, then let it cool, then spoured in to a containour, i poured it through a teatown to strain it, i added suger while it was boiling, it actualy was very nice and sweet, and i didnt feel sick! lol.
yup you cna use ANY fruit you like with this easy recipe...I have doen with with wild blueuberries, wild blackberries, frozen strawberries wild raspberries, and even pears...
That is really cool info. I'm definitely gonna try that sometime. I'm guessing you were going to anyway, but please make a vid when you make the jelly!
nice video I realy liked it and I plan on making some myself a quick question,is that ur doorbell in the background because iv heard it before in ur other vids? but again really liked the vid !
thanks, its actually my house clock, I made a vbideo on it since everyone always asks, lol it has the same chiem as mnay peopel sdoorbells so its confusing, lol, to see it just search cutlerylover clock..
i know i love blackberry jam i have it on my bagel for breakfast very often so im excited i can try my own now i didnt used to like the seed but i learned to like the texture !
Its sort of rustic which I like but they get stuck in ym teeth, lo, same thgin as eatign corn on the cob, tastes great but you need to apck a toothpick when eatig it, lol...
sweet! the 1st tiem I made blackberry jam it was good, but I didnt like all the seeds, so the next time I did it, I strained them out and just made jelly instead...
yeah all sugar is basically a thick flavored syrup, haha...if you ahve stiore bought take a look at how much sugar goes in...of course for diabetics or people watchign their weight you cna substitute splenda or other artificial sweeteners in place of the sugar...
hey, that works too! haha...Yes using a mixer or blender woudl make the berries into pulp alot easier...I just happened to use the masher to do it by hand...
yup...I love to cook, and I have no plans on makign cooking videos, howvere this was somethgin I never did before and wanted to film once I tried it, it went along wiht the wild berry videos...but I dont plan on having anymore cooking vids...
Thanks, I like to change it up a bit, even the knife nuts get tored of knife stuff constantly, but after just a few non knife re;lated videos you still start to miss more edged videos, lol...So a few more "nature/outdoors/survival" type vids then back to knives for a while...
Yeah, you cna use this same recipe for ANY fruit!!! any kind of berry you want, anything like apples, orange marmalade even!!! be creative and use whatever flavor you like best...To make jelly just straing out all the mushed fruit and just use the fruit juice...If you cant collect fruit you can use store bought fruit or fruit juice...
No problem...Og course using the pectin takes the guess work out of how long to keep boiling it down, so it makes it easier to make...but you do what you cna with what you have, haha, still came out nice!
can u do this exact thing with grapes?
SexyKush420 6 months ago
do you have to add sugar? will it ruin it without it?
squirrely102 7 months ago

When we make homemade jam we just throw the berries and sugar into a mixing machine (Im norwegian i sometimes look for the right words xD)
anyway, well add some freeze pulver if were going to freeze and then we just put it on bread xD
