It's ironic that they never remade games that were considered the best, such as VI and VII, and yet they remake the game with the most tedius leveling system 20 times. For Christ's sake, the Junctioning system made more sense than that.

Square-Enix may be dropping the ball on making new FF's, in fact they sucked ass since X-2, but they have a knack for pushing the DS' limits in terms of graphics and sound. I enjoyed it.

It has a cool plot and wicked characters.

And the leveling system lets you be pretty creative; how you fight decides how you grow.

If you use magic a lot your intelligence will go up, and the spells will get more powerful, and by using weapons they get stronger and do more hits per turn. And the more damage your fighters take the beefier they become.

Some people didn't like it, but some do.

I'm warning you. It's leveling system is so tedious compared to the others... Just get ready to grind, alot, and hurt yourself... Alot! I'm actually playing FF II as i'm typing this message out, issuing repetitive commands trying to level up a damn toad spell for days! HOWEVER, I must say, its story and theme are quite satisfying, and has bits that go into what a great final fantasy story should have! Still typing between the commands...

Final Fantasy II had Ultima, but it was a scroll you had to find, and there were no levels in the game. The only 'learnt' ultima spell through leveling was Terra at lvl 99 in FF VI, but there was never an excalibur Sword... Or a moon level... LOL.

most Americans havn't played this game, and if they have there almost obligated to say they liked since there fan boys and the game was released for them. now i like the ff series, but the real 2 and 3 (not 4 and 6) just seemed to much like fan games for american tards that insist on watching anime in japanese and reading subtitles. could be a fun game but it just smells to horribly of japan for me to play much of it.

Yeah, Proclaimin doesn't even know the whole story. Square ships FF1 to the USA, not knowing how popular it would of become(thus not releasing II and III to us). After knowing FF 1 was a success, they release FFIV to the USA, and WHOOPS, no II and no III, so what do they do? They rename FFIV as FFII for the SNES(as well as FFVI as FFIII for the SNES). They re-released FF II and FF III to "Fill the bridge". They aren't "NEW" Final Fantasies. We just got them late, really late.

I can easily say That FF2 is my favorite final fantasy game, I just wished that the gameplay in the first segments of the game were not so dificult and that the story line and villians were more developed, but other than that it had everything. It had love, betray, friendship, the overpowering of an evil force and the banding together of heroes of light that overcome all odds and defeat the evil. I love this game, MasterFeja out.

these games are rated for teen,but in terms of gameplay i dont think 14 years old or lower even like this since the gameplay is too complicated,its an rpg,theres a lot of chit-chat,your character dosent even moves in battle,and specially you need a lot of patience,etc,things that children dont like.and i just cant imagine a 8 year old kid playing these games at all.theres more mature guys/girls playing FF games too.
