Latin is not even recognised by the EU as a European minority language - even though there are more speakers of Latin than there are of Cornish, for example, and there are even first language speakers of Latin, whose parents have taught them the language at home.
What stops the E.U. from making Latin its Official language? I mean in the same trend we Arabs have. Our language is spoken across a very wide area from the Arab/Persian Gulf till the Atlantic ocean.
I also think that romance languages are kind of dialects of Latin. The Arabic that you'd hear from Al-Jazeera TV is formal, but not the one we speak in the streets. "This" Lebanese is " Hyda" . In Palestinian: "Haada" . In Algerian "Hatha" (th here is like THis)."Thing" Egypt "Haaga, in Leb: "She"
Hi. Nice lessons. I am an Arab. I know English very well. I live in Lebanon (LIBANVS I think it's in Latin) . I am saving them for later. Well, Arabic is much like Latin in the way the suffixes in each word would change the meaning.
I saw some Greek guy teaching Latin using Ancient Greek pronunciation. I noticed this word "CHARTA" is prnounced as "JARTA" where the J is like Jesus in Spanish. We in Arabic use "JARTA" to mean the map as in the map of the UK. I think Latin had Arabic influence.
You're amazing I'm 15 but I want to learn this language I find it so interesting. Btw is normal that my head hurts while trying to get all of this in my head?

The way you talk (not only the accent) sort of reminds me of Hugh Grants' character in Notting Hill :-D
Also, great videos. Thanks!
