I remember when Eddie BRILLIANTLY created this idea (Perhaps it was him, or Vince McMahon...) of "Playing "possum", or setting up the opponent of the match, where-as Eddie would for instance hit the guy with the steel-chair, while the referee would be unconcious & Mr. Guerrero would casually lie down on the mat after placing the chair in the other guy's hand(s) the referee would slowly get up, so would the other guy, & "CLEARLY" the referee would see in his sight that the dude was set up!

Anyways in pro wrestling there's a generally accepted 7 year rule where outrageous spots like the ring breaking are able to be reused without looking stale. The first one with Lesnar and Big Show was absolutely planned. The WWE had the same mechanism installed under the ring for both stunts.
