I'm saying I've been a Nebraska fan my entire life and I attended a game in 1997 where we won 77-14. Our starters were out by half time. That's not running up the score. Plus it's the other teams job to stop em. In 2004 we lost 70-10 to texas tech and not once was i upset that their starters were in the whole game. ITS THE OTHER TEAMS JOB TO STOP THEM.

go back and watch the final drive where lee throws an INT to end the game. they called a flag on the 1st play with 18 secs to go. the clock ticked down to 12 after the flag was called. the refs never put the 6 secs back on the clock. not saying that woulda won the game for the huskers. BUT it helps show proof that the officials were against us. like i said its not whining if its true. there were many other petty calls against us that shouldnt of been called. good defensive game bad officiating.
dude so true. I was on here earlier arguing that exact point with these dudes. ive seen so many catches like that ruled completions. These vt fans keep saying we didnt score ONE TD. we punched it in TWICE - lost one cuz we held, the other cuz we got ROBBED. plain and simple. GO BIG RED.
It was basically a free-play situation for the defense. In that situation (since the penalty was on offense) the time run off during the play still counts if you accept, or decline the penalty. The hold was blantant and obvious.. VT gets a sack if that O lineman never holds and the play is mute. The dropped TD was an easy call. Nebraska/the booth did not even consider challenging it because it was so clear cut. We had a late hit and a pass interference call that were VERY questionable.
i don't care what the rule says. i've seen 100 times a player make the catch the exact same way and the ball falls out and still ruled a touchdown. i've even seen it reviewed and STILL called a touchdown. no offense to virginiatech but that call was injustice. you can't say its whining or bitching when people just state the facts. a bad call like that can lose a game for a team when it's as close as it was. good game nonetheless and bad ending for us husker fans :(

Agree. SEC is a joke. They get ranked high pre-season because the SEC committee goes around giving blow jobs to all the voters. It has already been proven.
Every season ACC goes from being out of the Top 25 to in. Every season SEC goes from being in to being out.

This is why I don't watch college football. In both of the big plays at the end the defense could have ended it but they hesitated when they should have charged right at the QB.

The only statistic that matters is the score and we crushed you 16-15. VT always deserves to win.
I was calling myself a winner to fit in with the millions of losers that actually set aside time on the weekend to watch both ncaa and nfl and act like they are part of the team. It was my parody for them. I was actually in the gym during the first 3 quarters.
VT is never scared. Nebraska plays in that joke conference. VT plays in the ACC!

go back and watch the final drive where lee throws an INT to end the game. they called a flag on the 1st play with 18 secs to go. the clock ticked down to 12 after the flag was called. the refs never put the 6 secs back on the clock. not saying that woulda won the game for the huskers. BUT it helps show proof that the officials were against us. like i said its not whining if its true. there were many other petty calls against us that shouldnt of been called. good defensive game bad officiating.

dude so true. I was on here earlier arguing that exact point with these dudes. ive seen so many catches like that ruled completions. These vt fans keep saying we didnt score ONE TD. we punched it in TWICE - lost one cuz we held, the other cuz we got ROBBED. plain and simple. GO BIG RED.

It was basically a free-play situation for the defense. In that situation (since the penalty was on offense) the time run off during the play still counts if you accept, or decline the penalty. The hold was blantant and obvious.. VT gets a sack if that O lineman never holds and the play is mute. The dropped TD was an easy call. Nebraska/the booth did not even consider challenging it because it was so clear cut. We had a late hit and a pass interference call that were VERY questionable.

i don't care what the rule says. i've seen 100 times a player make the catch the exact same way and the ball falls out and still ruled a touchdown. i've even seen it reviewed and STILL called a touchdown. no offense to virginiatech but that call was injustice. you can't say its whining or bitching when people just state the facts. a bad call like that can lose a game for a team when it's as close as it was. good game nonetheless and bad ending for us husker fans :(

learn the rules of football son. You have to maintain possession of a pass ALL THE WAY THROUGH. The fact that he lost it as he was going to the ground is why it was incomplete. Even the announcers said it wasn't a touchdown. You could of also seen there was little to no complaint by the nebraska coach

That game SUCKED 1st of all that QB needs to learn how to THROW THE BALL. 2nd do not make penalties OMG Ur playing top 5 FB team in the country & dare do holding penalties that take away touchdowns. There were a lot of bad calls from the referees. Now COACHING WHY DO YOU NEED TIMEOUTS AT THE END OF THE GAME? SO THEY CAN'T THROW THE BALL INTO THE ENDZONE & WIN. 4th down only 5 yrds to go game is basically over if you retain possession of the ball. What do the geniuses do PUNT THE BALL fkg retards

BC did the same thing to us two years ago. VT dominated the whole game, then gave up 14 in the final couple of minutes to lose 14-10.
VT NEVER wins these kinds of games with last minute miracles. Primarily because we seldom have a quick-strike offense.

Hokies ..while not sucking.. looked bad.. ya they had a few major break away plays.. not only that, but i'm pretty sure the TD pass to holt @ 1;50 in the 3rd was a touchdown.. 2 feet in after he caught the ball and hit the ground causing the fumble.. read the rules.. GROUND CANNOT CAUSE A FUMBLE. TD Nebraska 19 Hokies 10. Never reviewed..kinda funny.. Good game, but dont get cocky you Douche, Nebraska should've won.

the ground cant cause a fumble but it can cause an incompletion, you have to maintain possesion all the way through, the was a similar call in the Notre game where Malcolm Floyd lost the ball when he hit the ground

That is not a Tech fan, he would not refer to Taylor as #5. The touchdown was clearly not a score. The ground CAN cause an incompletion. This rule has trickled down from the pro game. It was not even reviewed because it was not even close.

ya... wish that was true. our D gave up 300+ again and our O was, well, back to what it usualy is like. and at the moment the only team ahead of us that has lost is usc so i dont think we'll go up to top five, but top 10 for sure.
