No Christian minister who preaches about Jesus mentions ONLY the love & holiness of him. They also tell of the miracles he performed as evidence of his divinity. Paul mentions NOTHING of the miracles so we must question his source of information, it had to be hearsay myths of a person he never met. No Christian minister who preaches about Jesus mentions ONLY the love & holiness of him. They also tell of the miracles he performed as evidence of his divinity. Paul mentions NOTHING of the miracles so we must question his source of information, it had to be hearsay myths of a person he never met. That is not to say that a 'Jesus' didn't exist at that time, there were probably hundreds by that name it was a very common name & there were just as many Rabbis then as are Gurus in India today.

It is hard not to get emotional everytime I see this. What a horrible and lonely feeling to have to say to your father why have you left me. But at the same time I am happy because He loved us so much and He has risen from death. Today we need Jesus more than ever. But one comfort is He is still with us untill the day we meet Him again. Have you ever seen George Washington, were you alive during the Civil War? NO! but I am sure you believe it all took place because someone in some school told you it happened. You can even go and see the battle fields and you can see pictures. Well you can go and see where Jesus was born and you can see pictures of him. True accounts have been recorded of him.

Listen dipstick, the reason we believe in Richard Nixon, JFK, Washington, Genghis Khan & way back beyond, but EXCEPT for Jesus, is there is physical &/or contemporaneously written evidence of their existence. There IS NONE for jesus only in the bible & THAT is not contemporaneous, it's make believe. The 'historical' evidence of him have all proven to be lies, perpetrated by priests but even those people who 'wrote' of him didn't live when in the time of Jesus, they were not contemporaneous.

@kanakaken if you think the bible is the only written evidence of jesus then you are ignorant of history. The historian Josephus Flavius who was probably alive at the time of Jesus kept record of him. Tacitus who was regarded as the great historian of Rome, spoke about his trial and sentance to crucifixion. The babylonian talmud speaks of a man named Yeshu who was killed for public displays of sorcery. In hebrew, Jesus is pronounced Yeshua. Lucian Thallus Phlegon, and many others wrote about him

@MnSPictures If anyone is ignorant of history it is you. Josephus was born AFTER the 'death' of Jesus as was Tacitus. Neither were contemporaneous historians & there are NO contemporaneous historical writings of Jesus. The first 4 books of the NT were all written well after the 'death' of Jesus and the names DO NOT represent the name of the authors of those books. The name Yeshua was as common then as Smith is today so there were any number of messiahs about named Yeshua.

Jesus, the most important person in the Christian faith performed a huge number of miracles during his ministry & when ever he is spoken of by clergy, always his miracles are recited. How is it that Paul in all his writings NEVER mentions even one of Jesus' miracles? All he talks about is the mystery & love of Jesus. Can you name ONE contemporaneous historical writing of Jesus? Or perhaps I should ask, Do you understand the meaning of 'contemporaneous' ??

@chocolatethundaish It's obvious that the writers of the crucifixion story have never seen one or it's evidence. Evidence DOES exist of a young Jewish man crucified by the Romans, with nails through his wrists & ankles & NOT as depicted with Jesus, through the hands & feet. The weak skin & flesh between the bones of the hands & feet will NOT support the full body weight suspended. The skin would tear through allowing the body to drop to the ground making for a poor spectacle, not a good look.

If you or any others don't, then I will be wasting my time explaining it to you. I can understand how for you believers & god botherers, it would be very difficult to grasp the concept of contemporaneous evidence. It means that a historical treatise is written by an historian who was present when the historical event occurred & then he or she wrote of it.

The question of his existance never even came up until some german guys in the middle of the 19th century started it and quickly got owned by theologians of the time, putting the debate back to a dormant state. Paul on the other hand wrote volumes about Jesus yet NEVER met him & NEVER wrote or spoke of his "miracles", very strange.

@kanakaken alright, first off back to the 1st for books of the NT issue, the dating of these books are highly subjective, an educated guess at the least which usually depends on the predisposition of the scholar attempting to find that date. Alot of theologians even believe that Matthew, chronologically the 2nd gospel, was written about as early as 10 years after the death of Christ, due to the testimony of early church leaders like Eusibius or Origen, and how did you come to the conclusion that

Paul was then baptized and spent some time with the disciples. During all of this, don't you think someone would have mentioned to Paul SOMETHING of the miracles of Jesus? Especially after his own 'miracle'? Was Paul too occupied with his own to mention Jesus'?

Then I really, really doubt the Gospels were edited, especially during that time, the gospels said that the first witnesses of the ressurection were women for goodness sakes, women, at that time in thier culture, were not considered reliable witnesses. @chocolatethundaish Most of what we read in the gospels was added after Christianity had become accepted, eg post 300AD. The greatest evidence to support this is Paul knew NOTHING of the miracles of Jesus, that's why he wrote nothing about them. ALL the so-called evidence that appears after the 33AD that supports the resurrection and life of Jesus has been shown to have been forged, mostly by theologians, so what they believe is of no consequence to me or the truth of the matter.

@Prob2Prob The whole wrath of God for our sins was put on Jesus Christ when He voluntarily gave Himself for us. He was completely crushed by God's wrath, and finally resurrected by God. Jesus was and is God also, but Him, His Father, and His Spirit are one. I think of it as me, being body, spirit, and soul, and I am one with all 3 of them. God bless.

It’s natural for all of us to want justice, but our tendency often makes us want to punish with suffering more than to teach to change people and make the world a better place. God and Jesus don’t have that flaw. Jesus taught us to see God as a loving father who wants to give his children every chance to come back to him and change his ways.

They know not what they’re doing.” He understands our pain and suffering when we’ve been wronged and not just physical, but also in the heart when we’ve been rejected and hurt bad inside. Nice one....first of all, Jesus' crucifixion was no ordinary crucifixion. Yes the movie was a great cinema. It portrays something we now can only grasp the idea of what Jesus went through. The Bible says the beatings were more brutal and that no ordinary man could have survived the beating Jesus endured. Plus, have you seen a crucifixion? No one has seen a real one in over 2000 years. So you can look up what it would be like but no one can truly tell you what it was like unless they were there.

apart from the fools that have themselves crucified for religious reasons, it's rare to see one but there IS evidence left by history and full descriptions written about them in historical books by contemporary eye witnesses You CAN'T say that about the bible. In Israel an ossuary belonging to Yehohanan ben Hagkol was found and opened. Inside was the skeletal remains of a young man crucified proving first hand how it was done to everyone except 'jesus'. Why was he so different? It didn't happen

Your God according your beliefs will send someone to hell for being an atheist, but someone could be a horrible serial killer rapist and as long as he's sincere in accepting Jesus, he goes to heaven, but if any of his victims are atheist or Muslim or something they go to hell. @psshhaww Jesus has sacrificed so much for all of us, God comming down to our low level and living in the lows of our world, all the love he has shown and given and he was crusified for it, he gave us sinners the greatest gift of salvation and so many are so ungreatfull for it. it boggles the mind.
