I presume you´re singing it in F, that´s not good for your extension though. You don´t have to imitate, but could change the key, in order to set the song more comfortable to your voice. You certainly noticed, you had to change the scale (lowering at times and retaking original at others), which didn´t cause a good performance. You undoubtedly can do better. Luck!

I've done them all that way! And for many years. Every song I know by anyone! My favorite is "Viva Las Vegas". It's blasphemous... you'll never see them posted here. (I might post V L Vegas). You can hear it a little in everything I do. I do the high and low voices to stretch my singing away from the "Ian Zone"!
