I'm considering getting one of these rod/reel combos, would you recommend doing the contract thing with them?

@ChefBoyJL well yes i would! im now Pro staff for the company and ive had so many wonderful chances and oppertunites simply because i took the chance to produce videos for them! its not for everybody but if your willing to put time and effort into videos,work hard and really care for the product then you will be supported 110% there are rules to follow and guidelines etc but ive had great fun being part of the company!

Okay so I know trouts have a harder mouth than bass because they don't have like a fleshy protusible lip.

How did you guys hook the fish? Was it like a slight lift of the rod? Or were you using circle hooks?

no! standard hooks that are used for course fishing! this was a size 14 i think. barbless of course. simply "strike" into the fish you would any course fish!

the line cap on the mini baitcast/spinning/fly reels can not be very high at all.

for front/rear drag its about 70 yards at 5lb...for baitcaster i couldnt say, but its more than enough for the kind of fishing that most people will do with these rods. I use braid on some reels and with the newer thinner mono lines there is more than enough on any of the reels for most peoples fishing.

good point, but can you put normal size reels on the pen fishing rod extreme (the really big one)?

none of the Pen Rod Extreme range will carry a full size reel. However the baitcaster extreme comes with an adapter foot so you can use it on a full size rod!

goto the wesbite shown and buy yourself a proper reel, they are 100% perfect and cast superbly well! either front or rear drag or the baitcaster extreme!

pike, yes ive personally landed a six pounder and i have no erason to belive they wont handle MUCH larger! 50ft?? easy!

why would you want to hook a pike on witha 4'9 rod? Thats asking to break it.

ive had jack pike on the combo with ease. Im 110% confident that these rods will handle a double figure fish!

on top of my previous comment:the baitcaster you see in my "reel good fishing" video is FULLY FUNCTIONAL, the ones that ship with the cheaper, shorter version that are NOT Pen Rod Extremes ARE NOT! head to the website in the video and check the Extreme Baitcaster out, it has fully clutch and free spooling, making it fully functioning and easy to cast and use!

well i can now confirm that this rod has handled a 6lb pike, check my other videos, andalso a 17.5 lb carp! i dont think you will have any troubles handling a double figure pike if you play it careuflly and dont rush it

what are you? Mr Negative? check out the "Reel good fishing" video for a larger trout caught with the rod and the centrepin reel. Also all 3 trout in the opening image of this video are caught on the rod!

i don't think theres a diffrence between a pen rod and a pen rod exterme one just cost more.
