If you watched a video where some bloke scrambles a Rubik's Cube with his feet, you wouldn't say "you didn't scramble that rubik's cube with your feet, you solved it and then reversed the video", because solving it with your feet is much harder.

Well, it's the same here. Making a person ugly realistically is much harder as you have to pay attention to the small blemishes, hairs, and details rather than covering them up.
