Also the Cheyene Tactical M200 was built around the .408. You take the .338 Lapua Magnuma and combined it with the .50 BMG you get the .408

@goatmurray No. However I do regret posting a gushy review over a rifle and its caliber that is not taken seriously because

a.) It weighed nearly as much as a Barrett that fires a less powerful round.

b.) The .338 Lapua Magnum is the perfect cartridge for a 16-18 pound rifle that is gaining respect after it killed two Taliban men for over a mile away by British sniper Craig Harrison.

The only "action" the Cheytac 408 Intervention is ever going to receive is the movie Shooter (2007).

People stop complaining about power between the m200 and the 50 cal. At long distance it doesnt matter how big the bullet is,(between the two) its all about acuracy. Besides the worlds longest killshot beat the MACMILLAN TAC 50... With a .338 witch leads me back to my original point... Acurracy above all else!!!

World record confirmed kill was with a Tac50 using .50 BMG.

Tac50 is not available in .338.

Besides, 5.56 is plenty accurate to 1000 yards, but nobody uses it because It has about as much energy as a .22LR at that range. Accuracy is worthless if you arent delivering something substantial.

@goatmurray actually; i read in my stepfather's N.R.A. magazine that the world record was beaten(by 50 yards) by a .338 lapua magnum..... I realize it was in a magazine, but the magazine had many details.. at one time i think the might have quoted the .338 lupua sniper.. again i realize that the information was in a magazine hope i could help
