@moonlight9913 His fluf seems to grow longer at his own will, it also has been seen growing longer when he exerts a high amount of Yoki energy. He once wraped Inuyasha in it completely then threw him like a shitzu terrier.

And in the earlier episodes when sesshomaru had trouble flying his fluff grew seemingly endlessly as he exerted his yoki to slowly lift him into the sky.

For the thousandth time IT IS NOT HIS TAIL. It is not attached to his backside at all. I have pictures which disprove that from moments in which his hair was lifted from his back. I mean just look back to when he first transformed into a dog-demon in one of the first episodes and his hair is floating. Nothing is coming out of him.

You have to remember, he's a demon warrior from hundreds of years ago, it's only natural that he'd wear a pelt. And, his father had two. It isn't shown to be attached to his backside at all and in fact when he was injured, both ends of it are shown on the sides of him.

It's his tail and when it's injured Lord Sesshoumaru suffers a near-death experience. In the episode "Tensaiga and Tetsusaiga" Lord Sesshoumaru needs time to recover from such a wound after Inuyasha unleashes the Wind Scar. In the manga, Rin nurses Lord Sesshoumaru back to health after pouring cold water on his bloodied body. The TV series skips a couple chapters in the Final Act and some scenes in for seasons for episodes 1-167.

And if that is in fact a tail in the anime, it's growing out of his shoulder because I've found several screenshots showing that there is nothing coming out of the back of him, and his back is completely covered by his armor. Rewatch Episode 7 when Sesshomaru transforms and his hair is lifted in the air. Also, episode 116, Sesshomaru jumps and his hair floats and exposes his back again. Nothing is attached to his back at all.

The fact is it's his tail--no matter how censored the TV version is.

The only way Lord Sesshoumaru can life is threatened is if his tail is injured. The TV show is based off the manga, so it might be slightly different with ignored chapters, but it's still based off the original storyline.

The original storyline backs up this fact. Never relay on the translated North American version--they've killed most animes (DBZ, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Inuyasha). The original Japanese version is better.
